Elements! Not Him!

Elements! Not Him!

No sooner than Arrenhe's posterior had landed in the chair inside the interrogation room, it shot back up as if someio had lit a rocket underneath. The announcement from t'Rexan over the comms that N'Dak would be the new Executive Officer stunned the young Rihan dheno. Had she na read his report and discovered his planetside insubordination and odd machinations? And if she had, how could she trust him? Even beside that incident how could anyio trust him? He came from the most despicable political family on ch'Rihan, and the Khre'Riov did na strike Arrenhe as someio easily awed by such status. "Elements! Not Him!" He pleaded passionately.

The thoughts of his impending interrogation of t'Ditsy flew from his mind as he uncomfortably settled back into the chair as he considered the consequences of this promotion. N'Dak was insufferable already, and now he had the power and authority to be miserable. His feud with t'Aejhae would clearly end now, at least as far as control over the department went. That, at least, was a positive. The only io he could think of, though. As soon as it was feasible, Arrenhe knew he'd have to inform Kerih of this development. It would be wise for their di'ranov to be informed of this, as it could mean more trouble for Galae, and the elder Khev would have to tread carefully as he maneuvered to increase his influence with the organization, now that his most powerful political enemy had a family member in a position of authority in the fleet.

As he heard a commotion approaching in the corridor, as it sounded as if t'Ditsy was rather discomfited by her sudden relocation, he pushed the thoughts away and tried to concentrate on the task at hand. He had to get to the bottom of the HIC scenario, and it didn't sit well with him that the rather cooky lady who'd been his only friendly face was being scapegoated for the odd events that had enraged t'Rexan. It was only now that he wished he hadn't slept through the whole affair. He casually tousled his hair and took a few deep breathes to relax his face; he figured t'Ditsy would respond better to someio that didn't look like a cardboard cutout dheno with thoughts of inflicting torture on his mind. He certainly did na have such thoughts; he was more feeling like he himself was about to be tortured. With a sigh, he sat back and waited for the dheno officers to unceremoniously drag her in and plunk her down.
