web site down ??

Hi all,

Anyone knows what happened yesterday ?? I tried for an hour to log in the web site and it was telling me page not found or not working .. And I tried from my favorite links form a google search form the Star trek.com page ...

 

Anyways let me know ...

Yes, normally I will explain any site unavailability, but that is when I know what happens and/or I'm involved in getting it back into service. Last night, the site was unavailable for about an hour (9ish to 10ish Eastern Time) and then returned to service.

 

I don't know what caused it or how it self-repaired, it could have been a server issue or an Internet "Denial of Service" attack that spilled over to our little corner of the Net. Webbie may be able to fill in more of the blanks and if I find out more, I will let folks know.

 

All I can tell you is that it was unplanned, since we would announce any planned maintenance ahead of time and never schedule any downtime during peak simming hours. Thanks.

The hamsters got free. Someone forgot to close the cage all the way after feeding them. :angry:

 

No.. seriously... a stick of memory in the server went bad. As it was more than just press the reboot button to fix, it took a bit longer than normal to come back up.
