“Decisions, Decisions”

 

His massive framed blocked the door to sickbay, no one was going through, and anyone who attempted to move the Klingon would end up most likely needing to go to sickbay for different reasons than their current ones.

 

Garnoopy was under the command of Captain Fred Michaels and Commander Ridire; His Department Chief was Lieutenant Shamor. Lieutenant Debbie Mathews was the Chief Medical Officer.

 

His situation required him to know the structure of command on the ship, and the rules and protocols to which all Starfleet officers were governed under.

 

If Lieutenant Shamor had received orders from Lieutenant Matthews to keep Commander Ridire from sickbay, then Garnoopy would remain at his post, the Chief Medical Officer had the authorization to deny the Commander access to sickbay, as long as certain guidelines were followed. If Garnoopy denies Commander Ridire access under the belief that Lieutenant Matthews and Lieutenant Shamor believe they have reason to do so, then Garnoopy would not be out of line to deny Commander Ridire access to sickbay.

 

If those orders were false though, it would be Lieutenant Matthews and Lieutenant Shamor would be in trouble, despite that Garnoopy was the one physically denying the Commander access to the room.

 

However, Garnoopy knew that if Lieutenant Shamor and Lieutenant Matthews had no authorization and basis to deny Commander Ridire to sickbay, then Garnoopy would be forced to disobey his Chief, and step aside to let Commander Ridire in.

 

Garnoopy watched Commander Ridire walk away, and continued to stand, blocking access to sickbay. He looked at Lieutenant Shamor and awaited orders.
