Love misunderstandings..

I think i answered my own question about graduating .. Don't make a joke in an escape pod .. cause everyone will think you have it all wrong and that you don't know your priorities... ( Anyways that's what happened to me .. )

so I learned my lessons .. no more jokes or comments I guess ...

Bye bye ...

Eva..

** by the way to anyone who was at Monday academy : I never wanted to beam debris on board an escape pod i was saying that earlier ( on the ship when everything was normal) i wanted to but that now since we were evacuating we might be part of the debris ourselves ..... **

SORRY.... needed to blow some steam off .... love misunderstanding....

One way to handle something like that is to use OOC (out of character) text or PMs to the people who are working with you to say:

<< just kidding >>

Otherwise, once people start talking about it seriously, it could end up with a ridiculous situation going on.

Misunderstandings happen all the time in sims. There is no tone of voice to catch on to. And, to make it worse, the English language can be ambiguous.

Eva - The misunderstanding and tone thing happened to me. I don't remember the details, but I was simming as CSEC. During the sim something happened action wise, and I basically told the other players to get out of the area (evacuate quickly?). Another player did not take kindly to my delivery of the line, and commented OOC. My OOC response was something like I meant nothing by it, and was reacting as I thought a security person would. The other person seemed okay with that and backed off.

The encounter showed me that if something unexpected happens player reaction wise due to something I did or said, that's why we have <<OOC comments>>.
