Time Zones and Academy scheduling.

I live in the Central Time zone and I believe we are 2 hours ahead of the Pacific Zone.So when it's 6PM PT there it's 8PM here in Texas right?So I can join the academy then?Kinda confused as you can see and I'd appreciate any help.

It'd be easier to calculate from Eastern -- you're one hour behind, and you're probably used to hearing it on TV: "7, 6 Central!" and whatnot. :-) Our schedule is listed in Eastern first. Take tonight's Academy:

 

9 PM ET

6 PM PT Starfleet Academy

 

That's 9 pm Eastern, so for you, 8 pm.
