Guest Laarell

"Orion's Playground"

Laarell was never 'lonely'. The word had an unmistakable aura of a woman sitting home alone by the communicator, pining away for male attention; any attention. If she were 'lonely', all she need to do was slip into something casual (and form-fitting), then meander through the rec area. Or Sickbay. Or the Bridge. Hell, anywhere on the boat, for that matter.

Besides, she had a beau back on the station, didn't she? The Orion's favorite bartender was still there waiting for her triumphant return, but on the other hand, what working girl wanted to be tied down to a barkeep on Camelot? He was fun, no doubts there, but still, she was becoming almost bored with the thought of him. Pity -- after all, wasn't absence supposed to make the heart grow fonder?

She was, as she'd previously determined, not lacking for material to get her hands on. Excalibur had enough of the male gender to go around with little difficulty, and she did so enjoy a playground that was just ripe with the pickings. And oh, what pickings she had.

For starters, Science did have that Elasian heading it. Tall, dark, handsome -- a cliche, but not one that Teykier particularly minded. On the other hand, Elasians had reputations that preceded them in the scientific world. A little hard to get along with -- elitist? Maybe it didn't apply to all of them, but it was something to keep in mind.

As much as she liked men in power, Day was taken by his possessive little yeoman, and where Sorehl was concerned, well, Vulcans were Vulcans. She wasn't particularly good at waiting, and the whole seven-year deal wasn't her style.

As for Corizon, she wouldn't be entirely fair if she said he was unattractive, but then there was the worrying prospect of the status of her reputation if she were to become involved with a canine. The same went for getting with a feline -- which ruled out the new Caitian boy as well.

Going downhill in a literal sense, towards Engineering, she had to remind herself of the Trillish complications. Another attractive catch there -- and one that wasn't even taken, as far as she could figure -- but Admiran had spots and a parasite that happened to be sentient. Went under that 'slightly odd' clause. Same went for their security chief... although, there was appeal in going up against Victria. She did enjoy good competition.

Medical wasn't looking particularly good. Rumors were already mounting with Zier and the new girl who she'd gotten the quarters assignment together a few days ago for -- what was her name again? Maria or the rather. Counselors weren't her type anyway -- if she were going to be messing around with someone, she didn't want that someone analyzing her reasoning behind it. And Pilot... watered-down Klingons were not her type, enough said.

There were always the 'little people' in every department. The one security-based ensign who was a little too feisty in the martial arts that had shown more than a little interest in her, for one. Or the doctor who stammered when she came around. Or the half-Romulan -- Tr'Lorin? He was nice enough.

But that had only served to narrow her selection down to little nobodies and going up against a damned vampire for the attentions of Security's Trill. That could be interesting, and was a possibility. She needed to be on the lookout, however, for a prime candidate.

However, regardless of the outcome, she liked the fact that, with the giant arachnids not currently blasting the ship into rubble, she was able to get back to what she really was truly best at.
