Contemplative Multi-Faceted Maneuvering

Ne'Arrain Arrenhe tr'Khev

Arrenhe looked over the results of his calculations. There were a number of planets, colonies, and outposts that could be accessed with a tightbeam transmission from the REF's possible destinations in the next sector. Among them were some of the usual candidates for someio with nefarious intentions toward the Empire: including Vulcan, Starbase 212, and a few of the outer colony worlds in the Empire. A tightbeam could also be sent to ch'Havran, though the angle was tight. There was too much clutter and the angle was poor for getting io of to ch'Rihan or Earth. While he had na idea if communications were the escapee's intentions, at least he had narrowed down some possibilities should it be true.

As the Talon continued its stealthy pursuit of the REF, the young helmsman continued to alter the course as the NDAK SUCKS array continued to pick up slight variances in the fighter's course. With periodic checks to ensure that the ship wasn't letting out any telltale radiation or other identifiable sources, Arrenhe also contemplated the conversation with N'Dak prior to the chase.

It did na surprise him in the least that the son of io of the most feared Senators in all of the Empire would be seeking a way to improve his position while protecting his rear. What surprised him, however, is that he was brought in on it. Of course being the son of a senator in his own right, Arrenhe supposed that the N'Dak might have assumed that he was also full of ambition and shared some of the cunning and instinct of the father. While, to some extent, that was true, he was na in the least bit interested in those kind of things. He was na in Galae as a springboard to politics, but as a means to bolster the family reputation, to help his di'ranov and dinam. Of course, he had little choice but to agree to help in this instance; whatever was going on, there was a definite threat to Galae, which of course meant a threat to the Empire. He could na become known as a dedicated defender of it were he to skulk and shy away from this episode.

So, as the ship traveled, he contemplated both the present situation with the REF and the HIC scenario. Fortunately, he had been passed out during it, so did na have to worry much about being further degraded or put in jeopardy. Unfortunately, howver, since he had na been conscious, he was na exactly sure what transpired. Thankfully, the crew had been talkative, and he gathered more than enough information to have some ideas. Based on the types of programs that ran, he quickly thought of t'Ditsy. He would wager a good deal that the programs were hers, and he was na betting man by nature; she seemed like the type that would enjoy that type of esoterica. While she had seemed a bit... unusual, he was a good judge of character usually and he can't imagine that she would have intentionally inflicted those programs on the Khre'Riov. She's a bit silly sometimes, but na suicidal, he thought. So, if it hadn't been an accident, someio else was trying to point the finger at her. Probably more to have an effective scapegoat than as a personal attack.

So, as soon as it could be arranged, assuming N'Dak hadn't changed his mind, he would try to talk to her and see what kind of information he could get. He was still supposed to go see her, anyway, to look over the clothing she has made and play a tune or two for her. He might as well do something useful while enjoying her company. It was always good to catch re mice while swooping down on your prey, as any Hatham would if the opportunity presented itself.
