There's a Haynes Manual out for the USS Enterprise! Now I'll know what to do the next time the dilithium crystal chamber breaks. :P

And that's a bad thing? Lol, we'll see when it arrives at my doorstep in a few days time. (Yes, I bought it. Why wouldn't I? :P )

Seriously though, it does look pretty good. There's the info for it, and it only costed $25 CAN. :)

They are best known for their in-depth manuals explaining how to get your aging Fiesta moving just one more time.

But now motoring enthusiasts’ bible Haynes has put out a rather unusual new version of its popular guidebooks: an illustrated guide to Star Trek’s U.S.S Enterprise.

With detailed cutaways of all of the versions of the iconic ship from its inception in the early TV shows with Captain Kirk right through to Jean-Luc Picard, the book is destined to be a science-fiction geek’s dream Christmas present.

Warp Speed: An overview of the main bridge including details of where every crew member stood

The captain's chair on the main bridge, as used by Captain Kirk and Jean-Luc Picard, is broken down while Spock's role is analysed

The Haynes team even hired famous graphic designer Michael Okuda, who produced a technical manual for Star Trek scriptwriters to make sure the technology was consistent throughout the shows.

The Star Trek version looks just like every other Haynes manual

‘We’ve tried to capture a bit of Star Trek magic,’ he said.

Each iteration of the Enterprise comes with a full-ship cutaway and details of the bridge, the transporter room and engines. Even the space ship’s crew quarters

Each ship’s systems are analysed in detail and key developments from one version to another are discussed at length.

The 160-page book even covers technologies such as defensive shields, deflectors and computer systems.

Derek Smith, editor at the Book Division at Haynes Publishing said: ‘We’ve had a lot of success with our manuals on classic historic aircraft, such as the Spitfire and the Lancaster, and also with our manual on Apollo 11.

'So we started looking for other iconic subjects to cover.’

Haynes has manuals on the ‘Titanic’ and the Space Shuttle as well as a Wallace And Gromit contraptions manual due to be released.

Mr Smith told the official Star Trek website: ‘Haynes Enterprise Manual covers the various Enterprises – some in more depth than others – at a level that is accessible to anyone.

'So it was really about getting the level of technical detail just right.

‘What’s also important is that the book shows how the design of these ships evolved from NX-01 through to NCC-1701-E.

'Along the way we go into more detail about the key technologies used on board. People want to know how warp engines work. We explain that. People want to know how transporters work. We explain that.’

The U.S.S Enterprise manual will be published as a hardback and priced £19.99.

I don't want live in Ohio anymore. If Calgon could really take me away, I'd have it take me home.

There. . .I got it off my chest.

There's got to be some sort of legal reason why they don't want to show the new Enterprise with the brewery...unless they are still slugging out the scale issues with the new ship they created. I was curious who published this material?

EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TODAY!!!

Unless you are not a U.S citizen, of course. . .You can exercise your right another day. Unless of course the day to exercise your right is today as well, then I encourage you to do so. :(

Also unless you are underage. . .Your time to exercise your right will come soon. Unless of course you're holding student council elections today, then I encourage you to vote in those. But if you're using this message as encouragement to vote, then you're obviously either reading this too late, or on the interweb during school. And if you're on the the net at school, then you probably shouldn't be and your teacher is on his/her way to your desk in order confiscate your blackberry, or droid, or iPhone because you shouldn't be using it during class hours. :)

Also unless you've exercised it absentee stylee. Because, then it is now illegal for you to exercise it today because you've already exercised it, you must wait until next time. Still, good job. . . :)

Unless you happen to live in Hudson County, NJ. Remember, vote early, vote often!

I have voted ... I have gone to the restroom ... and both have left me with a similar experience. I feel vaguely relieved, having passed on something that somebody will inevitably find distateful.

A meeting of the minds? Or are they plotting something more...sinister?

Boo-yeah, Will. Awesome meeting of the ships there.

On another note, I came home to the smell of burned popcorn tonight. Kids (read: teens) decided that 8pm was a good time to start experimenting in the kitchen. Having burned the popcorn, they asked me where the deep fryer was, said they were going to make donuts (never have before, mind you). Would they take my suggestion that late at night was not a good time to make donuts? NoooOOOooooooo... Images of total annihilation of kitchen - possibly house - filled my brain as I logged on for the academy.

But what to my wondering eyes should appear? The most perfect first-time donuts I've ever seen/tasted in my life!!! Oy. So much for the diet! Not bad for a teen, though. ::beam::

With apologies to the Hood.

Basically it's almost 4 in the morning.

Nice! An Enterprise duel is pretty epic. My Enterprise manual came in the mail. As I expected, it doesn't contain any new information from the Enterprise of the new Star Trek movie, or any other non-Enterprise ship for that matter. (Voyager, Reliant, DS9, etc). Still, I could have definitely have used it back in Challenger's original format, (and may prove useful with the Enterprise B section) and is worth the $25 I paid for it. :(

Advertising utterly insane doorbuster deals for black Friday should be considered a form a inciting violence and riots and other forms of public unrest and should be made illegal.

That's just my opinion.

Obviously I need to do some shopping on that River named website for some Starship Books.

How selfish...need to start shopping for others first!

Oh dear..where to begin?

But who would want to own a ship with that many holes in it? You can see right through the darn thing!

Some guy shot out his TV ticked off at Dancing with the Stars. Really, dude..the show is not worth it. I know you were angry over Bristol Palin still remaining on the show despite her low performances and maybe angry with the voters. Well sir...now that your TV is trashed and you probably have a weapons charge on you, you will be safe from the Disney hyped DWTS crap that they throw at you each night on your ABC affiliate.

Just Don't subscribe to People Magazine, Star and those other celeb photo mags. I believe shooting out a mailbox is a far more serious offence!
