Another in my regular series to show that I am, in fact, nerdy enough to be in charge around here:

I am rounding out my WhedonVerse membership by going beyond just the first 3 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that you can find on Hulu and using BitTorrent to grab seasons 4-7. Okay, so I was watching an episode from season 5 and I see someone playing a doctor and he's very familiar. So, I consult my close and dear friend, IMDb and get my "Ah-Ha" moment. He used to play Lord Reefa from Babylon-5, that's where I know him from! And the best twist is that this Buffy episode is called "Shadow," sweet! (it's a B-5 reference)

Okay, done with today's rant ::turns and descends back into his parents' basement::

It's ok -- I just realized (and got very excited about) the fact that Ensign Ro is played by the same woman who played both Admiral Cain in Battlestar Galactica and Judith Mossman in Half-Life 2 -- how's that for a geeky trifecta?

And she was the publicist for Oceanic Airlines who moderates the press conference for the return of The Oceanic Six last season on Lost!

I always love finding the actors and actresses of characters you know and love in different projects, especially different genres. Just shakes things up. Case in point, I recently got Mass Effect 2 for the Xbox360 only to find that Michael Hogan (BSG's Colonel Tigh) voiced the CSEC (That's Citadel Security, not the acronym we're all used to) Captain. Good voice acting, though it really had me picturing Tigh as a worn out beat cop. Also, Tricia Helfer (The infamous Number Six) as my ships A.I. She's hard to spot because uses a dull emotionless tone of a true artificial life, but you can tell if you listen close enough. That being said, I spent the entire game expecting her to take over my ship and kill all the organics on board.

Oh, Michael Dorn provides additional voices as well. He's not a major character, but I believe some of the voice work for the Krogan's in the game, which made me laugh cause every time I ran into one I'd go "That Krogan is Mr Worf!".

Oh, also Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck) and Callum Keith Rennie (Leoben/Number 2) are in the new season of 24. So BSG fans rejoice! There's plenty of work to see the actors in even though the series is done.

Anyways, thats about all I've got along this line. I'm out.

Hogan's Captain Bailey was a highlight for the missions at the Citadel location; I loved the 'Screw you' attitude - sort of reminded me of Ol' Tigh-clops.

And as for Tricia Helfers ships AI character? Oh yeah, I had the "Oh boy...the AI is going to get corrupted and go on a rampage" thought once or twice as well.

I hate it when I'm downloading something and I see the "time remaining" scrolling up instead of down.

Yes!! Shuttle Launched!

Curious how visible a launch at night would be from the Cape? Probably could see it from many places in Florida I gather.

So I've been hired to DJ a party. For money.

Apparently someone is under the mistaken impression that I'm cool. ;)

Not that I'm complaining.

The Starfleet Cadet hockey team squares off against the Vulcan Science Academy hockey team. Hat trick!

20 credits on the Vulcans. Even though there's no ice on their planet. They're just that good.

What they don't know is that I know of the existence of half the songs I'm playing tonight because I heard them at SLE. ;)

Why is it that my spell check can correct "echococcosis" and "Atarxis" but when it comes to "Klingonic" it defaults to "linguini?"

You can change auto corrections. If you're using Microsoft Word 2007 the process would be: Click on the Microsoft symbol in the upper left hand corner -> Click on "Word Options" in the lower right corner of the window that pops up-> Click the "Proofing" tab on the left hand column -> Click "Auto-correct options" -> in the window that pops up, in the bottom there will be a list of symbols and words, the column on the left is what it corrects, the column on the right is what it corrects it with. -> scroll down though that list until you find Klingonic/linguini and click on that -> click "delete"
