Have you heard their making a movie based on, 'Asteroids', the arcade game.

Wait, what?

An entire film based on ... a little spaceship sitting there surrounded by asteroids, and shooting at the asteroids?

And don't dare twitch the control joystick and start moving the ship, 'cause then you're out of control and smashing into the 'roids, and then once you get control, you are so stuck at a corner of the screen.

An entire movie? Oh dear.

You know ... overall I'd rather not dwell on this concept. Aren't Pigeons known as "flying rats" because they are so disease ridden?

Again..."No" there are many misconceptions and rumor mill tales of the lowly pigeons..and there are just as many positive accounts of their cousins...the "Carrier Pigeons" ...Without whom contribution to "Modern Warfare" A great deal more would have been lost...just gotta think on a different plane of reasoning kitty...and one that does not involve netting the bird. !

I guess I should consider myself lucky that all I have to eat here is snow and not sand !

Yeah, well it's a stupid idea anyway.

Random: Aha, Jack wanted to name the space ship "Enterprise"!

Okay, I decide to spend the day continuing to watch SG1, and now they've killed everyone on Abydos as well.

...

It's starting to really, really suck.

One week, ten pages of scribbled equations, and 500 gray hairs later. I finally came up with the final part of the equation:

g = (1 + Δ)b

All I needed to do was ask the math major of the building. He figured it out in 10 minutes.

The problem was that my feeble brain can only take so much math at one time, and this little part was the final step in about a 10 step equation. I would have so many numbers floating in my head that I would end up curled up in the corner of my office rocking back and forth. So finally, our resident math major came back from TDY and came to my rescue. Its been a rough week for my brain.

I consider Math a royal pain in the neck (IMO). Ask me how I really feel about :-P

I totally disagree, because I've seen the same numbers be deciphered mathematically to state three extremely different conclusions. If math can be twisted within its own rules, how can it be the basis of logic?

I had a VERY bizarre dream last night involving the end of the world, my 1988 red Nissan Pulsar, and a group of refugees from the apocalypse including several cast members from Battlestar Galactica, several STSF Shore Leave attendees, and myself hefting a large shotgun a la "Half-Life" and blowing away evil aliens who looked like extremely beautiful women with dark flowing hair.

My subconscious must be a very interesting place.

Are you sure they weren't fem-bots a la Austin Powers?

My subconscious must be a very interesting place.

But it's okay; they know you there! And that dream sounds like an academy plot.

And now, for the adventures of the USS Nissan Pulsar .... it does sound like a ship name! :-D

::grins:: Doesn't it? It was one of the reasons I was excited about the car.

You have enough time, skill, ability, and money to put together an accurate Master Chief/Stormtrooper/Darth Vader/Gundam costume.

You know when you're a...

...trekker when you have a technical manual on the engine room of the Enterprise.

...trekkie when you know how to build the engine room of the Enterprise.

...treknut when you were an engineer from the original engine room of the Enterprise.

I should have stopped 5th season when I had a chance. Now Dr. Fraiser is dead too. Worthlessly.

I'll have you know that my Academy plots are meticulously thought out prior to full conception and launch, and I take into account the deep plot building aspects ... Not really, no. Most Acad plots are grabbed out of thin air, literally fifteen minutes or so before the game. :-P

I don't remember which GM it was who said we were going to Dagobah IV to kill venomous Yodaites and get our warp core destabilized by a flying spagetti monster.
