Probably not. And I, for one, have no desire to attempt it. :)

Try readjusting just to winter after spending 10 months in the Sandbox; it was in the 90's when I left there in November of '05. I was wearing heavy sweatshirts under my fleece jacket, the silk long underwear I was issued and heavy boots when I went out, turned on a ceramic space heater when I was home, and basically shivered my way through my first winter back in Jersey.

I had to laugh though this morning at the Keesler AFB service station. It was sixty when I went to fill up my car, and a guy in front of me had a heavy hooded sweatshirt and gloves on and was complaining about how cold it was. Meanwhile, I'm wearing a set of winter-weight BDUs, Underarmour t-shirt and summer soft cap, quite comfortable.

See this is why I plan to live in Minnesota, or at least above the Mason-Dixon line my whole life. If I ever move south, I'll never be able to go back north again :)

I saw Battlestar Galactica: Razor in a movie theater Monday night. It was so cool! Especially if you remember the original Cylons.

Precip is jealous! :)

Yes and no. There is an upcoming 2-hour episode that deals with the Battlestar Pegasus shortly after the Cylon attack of the colonies as well as Apollo's first command mission. Some theaters had a one-night showing of this episode.

I am not a fan of the new BSG series ::ducks incoming blows from the fans here:: and only catch one or two episodes every season, but I will be totally be checking out the two hour episode; I find the Pegasus story-line to be highly interesting. It'll be nice to see a crew other then the Galactica do their thing.

Actually, most of the Galactica crew is in it as well. A lot of the crews were integrated.

I myself have recently gone back to watching Twin Peaks. I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more backwards-talking dancing midgets.

I have a similar story.

I ETS'd (Exit Term of Service - in civilian terms that means "leaving the Army") from Korea in September. Still pretty hot in Korea, and we were used to doing manual labor in 100-110 degree heat. So you can imagine the shock most of us had when we ETSed in San Francisco just when Fall was setting in. Keep in mind most of these people had never seen fog in their lives.

I lived most of my life on the San Francisco peninsula, so I knew how cold it could get. I got off the plane in sweat clothes and everyone was laughing at me for dressing so warm. The laughed at me until we got to the fog-enshrouded San Francisco - and then I started laughing at them. :)

When I retired from the Navy, I was on the Deck of a Aircraft Carrier off the coast of the Middle East where it gets 110 but on deck with the jets running and all, it gets hot. Then flew back home to Mi. in Dec. of 05. talk about going from hot to cold.

Ooh, I remember what the warmth of M1 tank engines feel like in the dead of winter.

There was a reason we always gave them perimeter security duty, and it had nothing to do with security.

So is everyone ready for the Thanksgiving pig out sessions?? :D

I never understood this human fascination of stuffing stale breadcrumbs up a dead bird's butt and then eating it.

I prefer Chinese.

The world today seems absolutely crackers,

With nuclear bombs to blow us all sky high.

There's fools and idiots sitting on the trigger.

It's depressing and it's senseless, and that's why...

I like Chinese.

I like Chinese.

They only come up to your knees,

Yet they're always friendly, and they're ready to please.

I like Chinese.

I like Chinese.

There's nine hundred million of them in the world today.

You'd better learn to like them; that's what I say.

I like Chinese.

I like Chinese.

They come from a long way overseas,

But they're cute and they're cuddly, and they're ready to please.

I like Chinese food.

The waiters never are rude.

Think of the many things they've done to impress.

There's Maoism, Taoism, I Ching, and Chess.

So I like Chinese.

I like Chinese.

I like their tiny little trees,

Their Zen, their ping-pong, their yin, and yang-ese.

I like Chinese thought,

The wisdom that Confucious taught.

If Darwin is anything to shout about,

The Chinese will survive us all without any doubt.

So, I like Chinese.

I like Chinese.

They only come up to your knees,

Yet they're wise and they're witty, and they're ready to please.

All together.

[verse in Chinese]

Wo ai zhongguo ren. (I like Chinese.)

Wo ai zhongguo ren. (I like Chinese.)

Wo ai zhongguo ren. (I like Chinese.)

Ni hao ma; ni hao ma; ni hao ma; zaijien! (How are you; how are you; how are you; goodbye!)

I like Chinese.

I like Chinese.

Their food is guaranteed to please,

A fourteen, a seven, a nine, and lychees.

I like Chinese.

I like Chinese.

I like their tiny little trees,

Their Zen, their ping-pong, their yin, and yang-ese.

I like Chinese.

I like Chinese.

They only come up to your knees...

Personally, I prefer Filipina.

There is a local radio station that has already started playing holiday songs twenty four seven. I tried listening, but just can't do it until Dec.1.

And, I've reached my Turkey limit.

Gods, I cant stand this whole pre christmas, christmas BS. I mean, I think I remember a time when I was a kid, when there was actually a tiny, just the tiniest of breaks between thanksgiving and christmas marketing campaigns. Those lovely couple weeks where everything was normal, no giant trees or tiny elfs and such.

Maybe I'm just halucinating.

Maybe next year you'll be able to get your holiday '08 prepared in January.

Oh gosh how I love Christmas music. It's not even December yet and I have managed to watch White Christmas 4 times already. My family thinks I may have gone into Rosemary Clooney overdrive to early in the season. But I don't care I love that darn movie!
