Departure

Nick was sitting on a crate in the Lewis' cargo bay. He had requested some equipment from the CMO and he had gotten more than he expected. Right now he was ticking off items on a PADD. It looked like the temporary sickbay on...well whatever there was out there, would be well stocked.

 

Looking up from his PADD, Nick noticed that almost the whole medical staff he had assembled for the temporary assignment was busy in the cargo bay. He just wished that either Commander Hawke or the Captain would provide him with a bit more information. He sighed. It seemed like they would have to find out the details for themselves.

 

As he got up and wondered what he should do next Nick realized he hadn't eaten anything since that morning. Before going to the mess hall, however, Nick wanted to drop by his quarters and make sure he had packed everything he needed.

 

 

Fifteen minutes later a small bag was lying next to the doors of Nick's quarters. He knew he wouldn't need much, just a few uniforms and a couple of personal items. The rest would have to wait until the station was rebuilt. Nick looked around the small place to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything.

 

He smiled. He couldn't really say he was very sorry to leave the Lewis. Granted, everyone had been nice. The Lewis' crew had done their best to accomodate everyone from Aegis but it just wasn't the same. “I just don't belong here.” On that note Nick turned around and left the room, ready to face any challenges that lay out there.
