"Layers"

T'Parek leaned down towards the computer console, a slight touch of a frown crossing her face.

The Vulcan glyphs that occasionally flashed across the screen caught her eye, causing her to lift an eyebrow every now and then. Curious, after all, that as relatively far from home, literally and culturally, as she was, that she would still find vestiges of Vulcan society. Evidence of the two species at seemingly long last reaching some sort of accord with one another? Perhaps. The operations officer suspected that rather it was proof that the Vulcans were continuing to be the caretakers of the less advanced species. It seemed some things never would change.

A look at a data stream coming through on her scanner prompted her to lift the other eyebrow. Green residue; interesting. The illogical part of her that wanted to jump to conclusions about the content of the residue did so; instantly she thought 'blood'. Though unproven, the theory did hold some merit. However, it would require a third party to have enacted malicious damage against the comm relay, something T'Parek found implausible.

Sitting back again, she gave a neutral glance to Westler, waiting for the rest of the team to give their report on any further discoveries. But a few thoughts kept nagging at her, and try as she might, she was unable to shake them.

Was there someone behind the ceased operation of the relay? It seemed unreasonable, but, despite her best efforts to ignore it, the Vulcan had a hunch -- a 'gut feeling' -- that there may have been sinister activity at work. Was it more chaos from originating within the Romulans? Possibly, though it seemed a rather small, daunted move after their recent large-scale attempts.

Crossing her arms placidly, she refocused her attentions to the programing scripts. Mind on the job at hand, and hopes on that something would come to light sooner than later.
