this is my first time

Heya, and welcome to the site!

I can most definitely understand your trouble -- it can be a little confusing for a newbie, but I'm sure you'll catch on fairly quickly.

I would recommend that you start by studying the guidelines laid out in the How-To manual, located here: http://www.stsf.net/howto.php . It has all of the basics that you need to know before you participate in your first academy simulation.

There is an academy on every night of the week; take a look at the schedule ( http://www.stsf.net/schedule.php ) to check for the time -- it varies every night.

Hope this helps!

Look here and listen to the pro. I play this since week and a half ago and I played it twice so I’m that much experienced than you. So I can’t help you much but I know that first time I was playing I was, as you perfectly said, LOST. Second time was much better. And what really helped me is reading logs from STSF Academy and STSF Advanced simulations. Take some time to read few of them to get some general idea. It helped me and I hope it will help you.

Welcome…

Also, you might be interested in coming to an academy, watching and sending private messages to the hosts with questions. Being lost trying to follow a first sim is not an unusual experience. But, once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature.
