Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

Hey guys,

Since every now and then we throw in a chat about non-trek shows I was wondering if any of you boys and girls across the pond had got a chance to watch Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. Its grown to cult status over here in Britain due to its absolute bizarreness!

Basically its made to look exactly like a cheap action/drama show from the eighties and includes awful dubbing, terrible continuity, atrocious dialogue and very very very bad acting. It feels like watching an old pilot for show that you have to laugh at because its so rubbish! I bring it up with you guys because the show's plot premise is even stranger. Its set in a hospital where supernatural or extra terrestrial occurences for some reason randomly keep occuring. A few extras of the redshirt variety usually die horribly before the team of doctors take down the threat usually with nothing more than the plan of shooting or beating up the problem but pretend its all a really clever plan ala any eighties show. What puts the icing on the cake is they even do the pathetic laugh at a lame joke forever at the end of most episodes. It is sheer brilliance and a must for nuts everywhere.

So anyone seen it over there in the US (or in mainland Europe for that matter)? I hope the answer's no, then I have changed more geek lives for the better :D

Cheers!

My access to Brit shows is limited, and haven't seen it, but I have heard of it. Would probably have tried it out if it were on. :: misses having access to British televison ::

I did catch a few episodes of this show. I love satires, and this one is pretty funny. Haven't seen it again though, on any of my cable channels. If anyone knows what channel it plays on let me know.
