I trudged into the TurboLift. "Deck 24."

As the Turbolift whirred to life, I leaned against the rear wall and sighed. I only had a short break before getting back to work on the stuff with the Science Department. What I was doing going to deck 24, I had no idea.

The Turbolift became silent, then the door swished open. I stepped out, and wandered slowly down the hall. I stared down at the ground as I walked. So Xavier was gone. He had mysteriously transferred off the ship, without warning. He meant a lot to me. After all, he was my first chief. He helped me feel welcome in the ship, getting me out on my first nervous steps into this unique world. It will be hard to get used to an Excalibur without him.

I looked up, smirking. Maybe not as hard as getting used to having Admiran as my chief. It doesn't seem to fit well in my mind. Only time will fix that I guess. Hopefully he won't insist on being called "sir." It'll be hard to think that as it is.

I nearly jumped when I finally focused on my surroundings. I was just barely pressing my face against the side of a fighter. I was in the shuttlebay again.

I then realized that the fighter was alone in this area of the bay. I studied the fighter closer, to discover that most of it's parts were missing. I realized then: Xavier's second, unfinished Galahad fighter.

I climbed into the gaping opening where a canopy had yet to be installed. Standing where the seat would be, I gazed at the controls. It was amazing, with hundreds of controls, yet each one seemed in the perfect place to find it. Every control was in easy and memorable places, allowing a pilot to command the ship flawlessly. Xavier did well. I shook my head, trying to not think about his disappearance. I turned around, facing the cargo bay area, and noticed a small silhouette on the floor. I walked over, picking it up. A PADD.

I looked it over. What could be in here? I opened the first file. A shape appeared on the screen. I studied it, at first not making any sense of it. What is it? Then a thought occurred to me. I pressed a button in one corner. the shape changed some of it's colors, now having lines running all through it. I pressed the button again, then I saw what it was. It was a fighter, but a different one, a fighter I haven't seen before. I pressed a second button, and a text appeared. "Perceval Class Fighter Prototype."

I excitedly looked through the blueprints. It was amazing. The fighter was almost completely unique from any fighter I had seen before, and yet had amazing strengths and possibilities. The fighter was expertly crafted, with some innovational prototypes of weapons I haven't even thought were possible.

I went back to the list of files. Each one was a blueprint. "Gawain Class Fighter." "Merlin Class Phaser." "Pendragon Class Cruiser." The list continued on and on. Then I came across the Galahad Class. There was a small, green check beside the class name.

So Xavier designed all of these. They were all great blueprints. Yet he had only so far accomplished in creating one of his inventions...

I tucked the PADD under my arm, and walked back to the Turbolift. "Deck 16." I needed to save this PADD. I planned on working on these blueprints. I was going to continue Xavier's work, his legacy left to us. For Excalibur. For Xavier.
