"Too Much to Bear"

K'Walus had her head laying on the console in front of her, her forehead bleeding from the impact from the hit to the back of the head inflicted by Random in her fury.

Xena entered the Bridge, her mouth making a large 'o' as she saw the injured woman. "Ma'am! Are you all right? What happened?" As K'Walus was pulled back from the console. She uttered a soft groan, barely audible. Her forehead cut and oozing blood.

"Oh dear." She blinked a few times, wrinkling her nose at the sight of the blood. "You don't look good at all. What happened?" She reached into her medkit, pulling out a bit of gauze which she hesitantly dabbed at the wound with.

Slowly coming around, K'Walus moved her hand towards her forehead and tried to lean forward slightly. "What happened? What a headache."

"Owie. I don't know. Apparently Van Roy called Tro up here, but he was making candy, and I had to come up. And I don't know." Had she already said that? "Anyway, can you walk?"

"I can try." K'Walus moved to stand and was a bit wobbily, but managed to stand on her own.

Xena ran the tricorder over her, smiling. "Doesn't look like any harm has come to the twins. We got lucky. But sheesh... why would someone want to hurt you?" The nurse envied K'Walus -- if she had looks like that, she wouldn't be stuck in Medical!

K'Walus placed her arm around the nurse's shoulder to steady herself and keep from falling. She was dizzy from the hit to the back of the head, and the smack on the console didnt help any either.

The younger woman shook her head sadly. "I feel so bad for you, that someone did this to you!" Must have been pure jealousy.

"I do not know. Last I knew I was talking to Random. Then I was hit, then nothing until I was awoken by you." She touched the lump on the back of her head. "Ow. What a lump."

"Looks painful. Did Random hit you?" Made sense. Perfect, despite her name, was butt-ugly, when K'Walus had the looks that any girl would absolutely die to have.

K'Walus went to shake her head no and almost fell over. "I do not know." She grabbed for a railing to steady herself from falling from the dizziness inflicted by her brain sloshing around in her head. She stumbled to try to regain her balance.

"We'll find out. Or Tro will. I'm sure he won't like that someone attacked you. Especially with the twins." She stifled a giggle. So much gossip really was flying about her! "Is it true what they say about who their father is?"

"I've been told there are two different fathers," she said as the nurse helped her walk to the turbolift. "Tro'NoQ was double checking the results."

"Two! You were busy!" Xena clapped the hand not supporting K'Walus to her mouth. "I'm so sorry! That just slipped out!"

K'Walus leaned on the nurse. "I had heard that everyone knew; now I guess it's true."

"Oh, you wouldn't believe all of the theories. Some are rather vulgar, though some are very humorous. For example, there's one rumor flying that you're actually having triplets!"

K'Walus' knees got weak and she fell to the floor right out of the nurse's arms. She had passed out with the news of triplets and the thought that the Qel had not told her the news yet.

"Oh no!" Xena looked down at her, hands on her hips. Tapping her communicator, she spoke, voice carrying a slight tremor. Had she killed her? Oh no! A life of bondage as a slave in the professional jell-O wrestling games to await? Let her be alive! She reached to take a pulse, her breath calming at the results. Standing from the kneel, she tapped her communicator. "Orderlies to the primary turbolift, STAT, and please bring a stretcher..."
