*: He is human, but there is slight variance of inhuman DNA in his genetic code that links him with a Vulcan grandparent.  Although this would mean his grandfather was a full Vulcan, it was never on the record, as his grandfather Captain Theodore Hawkins, had no Vulcan trademarks.  This is a genetic anomaly, or assumed so, but higher ranking officials believe he was a Vulcan agent sent to make sure Humans do not advance to quickly, which is why he was decommisioned with his vessel the USS Cougar, on 2357. *

 

 

 

Reese Hawkins was born in London on September 5, 2360.  He is one of two sons, and a daughter, by his parents Catherine Hawkins and Jeremy Hawkins.  When he was 16,  his sister Tiffany was killed on a Federation transport vessel enroute to Earth from Starbase 109.  When suddenly, it was attacked by a Klingon Bird of Prey and destroyed immediatly.  She was 23, and a Leiutenant Junior Grade, serving as an Assistant Engineer. His brother Charlie Hawkins, upon hearing the news, went out in a stolen Federation shuttlecraft and attacked the nearest Klingon Vessel, a V'ortcha class battlecruiser.  Although the ship he stole it from, the USS Monitor beamed him out of the craft before it was destroyed. He was then kicked out of StarFleet Academy and was never to return.  He know serves as a Marine Geologist on the Atlantic coast, working on the new "Atlantis Project".

 

Reese, at the minumum age limit, signed up for transfer to San Francisco to become a Cadet.  But due to his parents and in part the accident that led to his siter's death, was restrained from going.  The next year,  he secretly left his house and jumped onto a cargo vessel routed for San Fransico, and joined anyways.  His parents have not forgiven him, and refuse to accept any communication from StarFleet.  Yet he still sends them, every week.

 

In 2378, he successfully graduated from StarFleet Academy at the top of his class in the department of Engineering.  Many say it was his sister's death the drove him towards becoming a StarFleet officer, especially sense he appears to excel in Engineering and Quantum Mechanics.  Other say it was because of the Unhonorable discharge his grandfather recieved in 2357, and thus wanted to give the Hawkins name a good reputation again, seeing how his brother and his grandpa had dirtied it.  Though he does not blame his brother or his grandfather for their actions, he does believe they should have thought things through before jumping the gun and not taking the ######.  In response to these words his brother shuns him as well, believing that Reese took the cowards way and stood by and watched his sister die.  So Reese has also turned his back on Charlie.

 

In 2380, he recieved his post as Assistant Engineer onboard the Arcadia-E.  Only to lose contact with the vessel hours later.  Under the command of Captain Moose,  he enjoys working with the advanced technology onboard the Sovereign class vessel. He continues his triumphant march to perfection, peak efficency.  The same drive he had in StarFleet Academy.  This, SI believes, appears to be the Vulcan genetics kicking in.  SI is keeping their eyes on him for now,  suspicous of his bloodline.
