Something a little different ;)

Now I realize this might be a little off topic, and maybe even upsetting to the hardcore Trek fans browsing the boards :)  But I know theres at least one STSFer out there who is interested ;D

Babylon Five! Yes...that epic series...is coming to DVD :)  November Fifth.  B5/Trek Fans...you finally have what you've been waiting for

Hey there,

Yeah...I just saw an advertisement for it. Any idea what type of "extras" are going to be included?

"Ivanova is God"

Yep, just season one so far as I can tell.  As far as extras go...this is included in the advert on the back of December 2002 Star Trek: The Magazine.

Nearly 17 horus of programming on six discs

Commentaries by J. Michael Straczynski on selected episodes

All new Introductions by J. Michael Straczynski

Making Of Documentary

Additional Deleted Scenes

Interactive The world of Babylon Five Files

All new Dolby Digital 5.1 audio remix

All new Digital widescreen transfer

Probably more  too :)

"Ivanova is God"

Finally sombody acknowledges the most kick arse officer from Babylon 5, which is a truly great sci-fi series.

Curious if anyone recalls that awesome line she utters on her last mission. Beats most Star Trek lines hands down.

And Babylon 5 is linked to Trek loosely via the production crew, CGI artists from B5 went to Voyager and brought us The Kremin temporal vessel, along with 8472's vessels. Also...to those who are familiar with what Jupiter Station looks like from Voyager...don't those Solar arrays on that Station look as if they were borrowed from another TV Show

::Twiddles thumbs:: Yeah..Ivanova was good..not sure if she was the best character from the series.  But an excellent one none the less.

As for the quote...

"Who am I? I'm Susan Ivanova, Commander, daughter of Andrei and Sofie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is gonna kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart. I'm death incarnate and the last living thing that you're ever going to see. God sent me."

-- Ivanova in Babylon 5:"Between the Darkness and the Light"

As a general rule B5 quotes tend to beat the Trek variety hands down.

Not to say that trek dosen't have some good quotes too :(

Well, as long as we're on the subject of B5 -- Yes, it completely kicks Trek, in terms of lines and in terms of plot arc -- the only Trek series to come close was DS9 (curious, that...).

It's just a shame that neither of the spin-offs really took off.   Personally I didn't like Crusade much, but Legend of the Rangers rocked, I wish they'd decided to pick it up as a series.   ::sigh:: Why does the best stuff always go off TV, and the garbage stick around season after season after season?

::grins and adds in her old sig line, now that she's sure it'll be appreciated::

Ahh...Thanks for that quote..I need to learn how cut and paste on this board!

I wish "Legend of the Rangers" would of been picked up as well, despite some gripes I had with the show's distancing itself from what was going on at B5.  For a pilot it had promise. Sux...

:(

What would of happened if Ivonava was in command of Voyager? Hmm....
