It was on the tip of her tongue as she talked with Xiang via the comm.  Subtleness was something she was not accustomed to during her life, but yet the academy had taught her it and much more.  As she withheld her true feelings regarding her current assignment, her fingers absently tapped on the makeshift desk that served as the command for medical in the shuttlebay.  The conversation between the officers was quick and dry.  Her longing to return

to science was again postponed as she was now serving in a medical capacity.

She turned her attention back to the padd she held in her hand.  With her free hand, she reached for the wrapper of her snack and discarded it into the recycler.  She sighed and began to rub the back of her neck, the knots from the endless hours of lack of sleep and the diligent work of setting up medical had taken its toll.  Scanning down the checklist, she noted that all mandatory tasks were complete and that only some minute tasks needed to be

completed.  She had to admire the medical department's ability to set up an entire 'mobile sickbay' at a moment's notice.  The vast amount of equipment and supplied were horrendous, to say the least.

Her legs extended under the desk with no one to see her sitting very comfortably, Cathy let her body relax.  She gazed one last time around the shuttlebay as the weight of her eyelids seemed to multiply in just a few seconds.  Her breathing became calm as her thoughts drifted again to the recent events with her father.  She smiled to herself as she could still see his face, the strong facial features corresponding to his role in life.  The incident

of weeks past still fresh in her mind, but she had come to grips with almost losing him.  He had been a strong factor in her upbringing and to her, he was her role model.  While at times he had been overbearing and had pushed her to what she felt was beyond her limits, she had come out victorious in the end.  Now, she was thankful for all those times.
