Well i would be happy to paly in some acad's that were run about 2 or 3 hours eairler to. I live in australia, but that still doesnt solve the problem of having a GM around. But also as was said before, people tend to only go on when they know its close to sim times and when they think there would be people around. But thas only my thoughts.

As Terry Riker has shown, there IS a community abroad begging to pop out of the woodwork. His first post and its on this thread. Coincidence? Non.

Ironically, if I hadn't had to move away from Aegis due to scheduling problems caused by the timezones I could probably be up for GM training some time around now to try and help solve this issue. The most annoying thing is not being able to do Challeneger which I was so looking forward to (doing loads of pre-logs and such). But I think the system we have is pretty damn infallible. You don't get to GM-hood really if you're a nutball (the bad kind, not our own nutritious brand of nuttyness).

Hey there,

Earlier? Aren't most of them already running around 2:00pm the following day for you?

Are there people interested in games at earlier times? Yes. However, are there enough to support games on a consistant weekly basis (regardless of GM status)? No...I honestly don't think so.

I think that you should have some at maybe 6..7 o'clock? I have to go to bed early for work and lots of others do.

Problem is that even in the good ol' US, what's midnight in the Eastern time zone is 9pm for the west coast. Most of the sims are at 10ET, which puts them at 7 on the west coast... and that makes it tough for west coasters as well. I simmed at 7 pm for many years, and if you're stuck working late... ya end up missing sim. No easy answers, with the world so inconveniently divided into time zones and such.

Well i dont think we would realy know if we would get enough interest in having a sim eairler or not until a poll is put out. Most of the games here are running from around 10 am through to about 1pm depending on the sim or acad times. Where as Images had to move away from his sim and there for isn't able to train as a GM yet i hold the rank of Lt.Cmdr and have had it for a while so if the chance ever came up i would try out for it. Having games a few hours eairler would suit me a little better as wel as i usuall have some time free in the first half of our days here. But again al this is only my opinion.

They cant. They only one pick out of many LtCmrs to be GMs and the new GMs have to have fexible schedules. Plus, most people are busy during the day.

I did put out a poll. There were 8 results in a range from 9 to 12 in the London evening most saying the weekend was best. What I think would work would be 6pm central time, 12am London, 8am Tokyo Saturday. That was the specific time with the most votes (tied with another 3 votes for a general evening in Europe). This touchest reasonable times for most areas. While some may be thinking of this as opening a door for a few already in our group.... I think of it as opening a door for all those outside.

The big catch is the GM issue. I've simmed since 1994 and hosted sims before but I've only been back here for a couple of months. So while I'm happy to spur this on and help build the sim it will be awhile before I fit the "official" qualifications for GM.
