Staring Kairi and Prell

 

(The following takes place the night before the events in "Just Saying Goodnight."

 

 

 

Prell sat at his desk in his quarters, staring off into space and thinking, planning, thinking some more.

 

Kairi stepped up to Prell's door, making a couple quick adjustments before finally pressing the chime.

 

Prell jumped up, confused. "Computer - video feed Alpha Alpha Uno". He saw Kairi out in the hallway, dressed as if she were going on a date.....a DATE. "Awwww crap!" He rushed into the bathroom to pretend he was getting ready. "Come in!"

 

Kairi stood in the doorway, looking around. Her red dress sparkled in the low light of Prell's room. "Where are you?"

 

"Ermmm, in the bathroom babe - just drying off...." He hoped she wouldn't think he'd totally forgotten.

 

She entered, heading towards the bathroom. "Drying off? You were supposed to get off work early so you'd be ready to go by now. You didn't forget did you?"

 

He stammered. "Uhhhh, no, I didn’t."

 

She tried to hold back a giggle. She knew he forgot. At least he was trying to make up for it. Besides it was kind of funny. Kairi peeked her head into the bathroom. "Well hurry up. The night is wasting away."

 

He brushed past her in nothing but a towel. "I know, I know, let's see, what to wear....."

 

She walked up behind him, grinning. The thought of grabbing his towel was almost too much, but she resisted. Instead Kairi gave him a quick kiss on the back of his shoulder as she poked around to look into his wardrobe. "I'm sure whatever you pick will be nice."

 

He pinched her playfully. "Where were we going again?"

 

Kairi sat down in a chair closest to him. She knew it. He did forget, because he was the one that was supposed make the plans. Smiling though, she played along. "Well I was thinking maybe dinner in the holodeck, someplace romantic. After that depends on what mood we're in."

 

He put on some pants and turned around. "You’re reading my mind - that's what I was thinking." He found a nice shirt and put it on as well.

 

She smiled at him. "It's what I do best...well almost."

 

He winked. "Yes, yes, I did forget - can you ever forgive me?" He kissed her cheek as he helped her up and towards the door.

 

She ran her finger along his chest. "I don't know. I'll have to think about that one." Giving a playful pout, "You didn't even comment on how I look tonight."

He grinned, "You look stunning, as always."

 

Kairi smiled as she wrapped her arms around the back of his neck, giving him a kiss. "That's much better."

 

He winked and nuzzled her nose. "We know who the boss in this couple is..." He grinned as he led her out the door.
