Interrogation Procedures

After getting the orders from Marx Swan turns to Thoros, "Shall we go? We need to sit and plan what we are going to do."

Thoros pulled his antennae back, not liking his orders. "Okay..."

"Where shall we go to make our plans?"

He shrugged. "Mess hall might be quiet."

"That's a good idea, and we can get a bite to eat while we are there." Swan turns and heads for the TL then turns back looking at Thoros. "Well? Are you coming?"

Thoros looks up and nods, shaking the thoughts out of his head. "Yes," he says as he follows. "Just thinking about our new orders."

They enter the TL. "Mess Hall!" to the computer, then to Thoros, "Don't think about them to long and hard, You will not be able to act on them."

Standing in the turbolift, Thoros shrugs again. "They just seem so...Underhanded. Meh, just ignore me."

"Why would I want to ignore you? We are both supposed to come up with a way to get them to talk. I'm not in this alone you know."

Thoros nods. "Well, the Federation is far away," his brow furrows. "And they said do anything. Does that include anything against regulations?"

"I'm afraid it does, but lets hope we do not have to go that far." The TL stops at their destination. "Come on lets go grab something to eat and drink and discuss what we are going to do."

Thoros exits the turbolift and walks to the mess hall. "The part I'm concerned with is when Commander Marx said 'Don't connect security with the investigation'. How do we do that?"

"My guess is that if we do go outside the Federation norm he can't be held accountable. So we have to make sure we clear up any mess we make."

Swan goes to a replicator and orders a coffee, black. "Do you want anything to drink?"

Thoros' thoughts go back to his ancestors, and how they would have handled it. "Um. Synthohol. Andorian Ale flavored."

"Lets have a seat. There are many ways to get a human to speak. I know they will not just come right out and speak to us. I have already tried that when I booked them in the brig."

Thoros takes his drink and sips it, turning to Swan. "Well, I got a short look at main engineering, but I think we should inspect it further. There may be evidence we missed."

"The Chief said to interrogate the accused. Shouldn't we do that first?

Thoros grimaces. "I'd still like to look for more evidence. Plus I don't know how we keep security from being linked to an interrogation."

"How do you think we should start with them? I mean they are not going to come right out and talk. Naara insists that she innocent "

"Well," he replied quietly. "We still have no concrete proof that either of them did it. Maybe just ask both of them again what happened."

"Maybe you're right. Maybe I'm thinking to violently. Shall we go have a talk to them?"

Thoros shrugs. "One of my fathers said that the first thing to do is ask nicely."

"Agreed, Lets go." She places the empty cup on the reclaimer and heads for the Brig.

Thoros sets his down also and follows her, not liking this at all.
