"Engineering Manipulations"

"Engineering Manipulations"

Starring James Kroells & Dielle Toren

James ran over the PADD one last time, the dim glow of his half lit office lights making it difficult. He paused, and turned to his desk screen, forgetting that that too was broken. He let out a small sigh, wondering when that damned Trill would get around to doing some actual work.

The doors to the science lab opened, Dielle strolling casually inside. "Someone complained about the lights in here again?" She approached his office, looking up at the faulty lights overhead.

His eyes however, did not leave the Risan standing in front of him. He carefully scanned her curves as he formed his next sentence. "Indeed. I wouldn't be surprised to find Prell at a EPS relay, flipping switches and giggling like a school girl."

She ignored his gaze, walking directly to a section of the wall and kneeling down to pry it open. The door to his office shut closed behind her. "Funny, he suggested that you simply couldn't handle the equipment in here properly. Always trying to use more power than you have."

He continued to sit at his desk, his eyes tracing down her back as she leaned over. "That man, or is it the thing inside of him, doesn't know its place."

Dielle reached into the panel, pulling out a blown circuit. The lights went out in the lab entirely. "Sometimes people need to be shown their place." She turned around, facing him in the dark.

He smirked, and moved over to her, only the slightest bits of light shining through his heavily tinted office windows. "Smart girl."

She stood up, wondering just how smart she was. Had it been smart to leave the relative safety of Risa? Had it been smart to confront Prell and Kairi? "I need to give it a minute to cool down before I replace it with new circuitry," she explained.

He sat down on top of his desk, gazing over her again. "Well, what do you usually do to pass the time while...your circuitry cools?"

Dielle moved to him slowly. "Prell sends me on yet another mundane assignment. He doesn't seem to realize that my skills extend to ... other areas as well." She looked him over casually. Definitely an improvement from the ambassadors and other officials on Risa. They were often older, had let themselves relax a bit too much on the planet. She looked at the man standing in front of her and realized that her career options suddenly seemed much more attractive.

He gave her a small smirk, while gracefully licking his lips. "And what other areas do you specialize in?"

She halted, merely inches from him. "Are you asking for a description or a demonstration?" She smiled slowly.

He tried to hide his grin from her unsuccessfully, instead only managing to change it into a dirty smirk. "I suppose a demonstration would be best for me to truly understand."

Her voice dropped to a whisper. "I'm sure something could be arranged," she murmured, leaning into him. Her lips brushed his, testing him.

He grinned for a second, before returning his lips to hers, opening up her mouth while his hands roamed her back.

Dielle let him explore her for a few brief moments before pulling away abruptly. "I'm sure it's cooled down by now." She backed away from him, grinning, as she returned to the panel in the wall. He smirked, and watched her walk back to her circuits, enjoying the game. He paused, wondering if this was her style, or if today was a special day. She worked quickly, feeling his eyes on her once more. The lights flickered for a moment, then came on in full force as she closed the panel. "Is my work here done, or was there something else?"

"Well now..." He smirked, and walked over to her. "I believe that is entirely up to you."

"I'm sure the Chief's already got another job lined up for me in Engineering." She made no effort to reach for her engineering kit, but instead continued to lean against the wall.

He kicked her kit away, walking closer to her. "He doesn't know exactly how much time it took you to fix ...everything."

"True." Dielle considered. Surely there were benefits to working overtime. And it was about time someone appreciated her for something besides her engineering skills. Kairi was too wrapped up in other things. And Prell wouldn't even give her a second look.

James' hand brushed along her side, as he took in her scent. "Well then, what did you have in mind?"

Dielle curved her body, molding herself to his touch. "I'm open to suggestions." She reached up, kissing him again.

He returned the kiss, his hands roaming again, memorizing her features. She broke away for a moment, glancing at the closed door. Being a chief definitely had its privileges. And perhaps being with one did as well. He interrupted her thoughts as his hands drew her back to him, and she realized she had no desire to resist.
