Best Non-Enterprise Federation Starship Class

Okay, I did a pretty thorough search and haven't found a poll quite like this, it's usually a discussion about the Enterprises. So, let's throw the Enterprises completely out the window for this poll. Out of the Federation Starship Classes listed above (I tried to be thorough!), which is your favorite, and why does it tug at you?

 

I love the Akira, myself. The look is amazing, and it's a mean ship without being a behemoth like the Galaxy or Sovereign classes.

I don't know too much about the older ships, so my choices were going to be one of the two i *do* know of, the miranda and the constellation. I just decided on constellation just cause...

 

as for the newer ships, I chose Akira cause it's been a favorite of mine for awhile. Prometheus comes a close second though. I just had no knowledge of it until i was looking for an advanced sim and saw the USS Agincourt.

For the older ship, I went with the Miranda. It kicked some serious arse in Wrath of Khan. For the newer ship, I chose the Akira. It packs some serious, serious heat for a ship of it's size.

Unfortunetly, these ships never will bear the name Enterprise either. Being the flagship of the fleet...or a fleet deems a more large scale battleship type ship, akin with the Ambassador, Galaxy and Sovy classes.

 

Personally, of all classes the Ambassador is my favorite. I see it as the perfect hybrid between the TOS Constitution and the TNG Galaxy. As for the ones on the polls, I've always have a soft spot for the Constellation, Obereth, and Miranda from the Early TNG/TOS Movie eras.

 

Now that I think about it, I'm less of a fan of the newer ships then the old school ones. Although, I always did like the Akira, Prometheus, and Steamrunner classes respectively.

My favorite older class is the Miranda class, since it is one if the older class ships to still be in service, and it has a nice design.

 

My favorite newer classes are the Prometheus and Nebula (damn polls wont let you vote twice) because they both look cool, and are heavly armed.

Eh, The Neb always seemed fat and bloated to me. Without the Galaxy stardrive, it just doesn't work for me :P

My favorite ship is the Intrepid class. Not because of Voyager but because I think it has the sleek look of a hot sports car. Personal taste what can I say!

I don't quite understand the universal love of the Akira class. It's a nice ship in it's video game incarnations. I'm not a big fan of the later ST: Encyclopedea artwork but in that style the Akira is the single most ugly ship in existance.

But that's why I think I like it. The harsh klunkiness of it, less pretty and smooth.
