OK, in light of the discussion about trojans, hackers, etc. which browser made by Mozolla.org is better? They make both Mozilla and Firefox.

Personally I think it is weird that one organization would produce two completely different browsers. So what is the difference between them?

That's why I use Opera for almost everything; and what I can't use it for, like my official email clients, I use IE.

Mine says "Mozilla Firefox"...

Mozilla is an all-in-one application (browser, email/newsreader, address book, etc.). Firefox is a standalone web browser, and Thunderbird is a standalone email client. Firefox has a much cleaner interface and is faster and more extensible than the browser in the suite.

The Mozilla suite (aka Seamonkey) is no longer being actively developed. Firefox is continuing to improve.

Both are based on the same original codebase and use the same rendering engine technology (Gecko). They are free software/open-source projects led by the Mozilla Foundation. Official Mozilla Foundation builds of Firefox are therefore known as "Mozilla Firefox." Unofficial builds with source code modifications don't carry the Mozilla name because of trademark issues.

I like using Firefox and Thunderbird, personally. Lately I've been having various issues with Firefox though, and I can't track down what the problem is. Has anyone tried the latest beta?

If your problems are because you have a beta already, I recommend you switch back to the latest stable version. :P Betas are unreliable at best. Firefox 2, as much as I anticipate it, is not touching my computer until the final release candidate (or maybe the final release).

If your "various issues" are coming from Firefox 1.5.0.4, you could try and be more specific. You might also want to try running Firefox in Safe Mode, which disables all extensions and themes, as they can cause trouble if you install an extension that conflicts with another one or has a bug.

After trying Firefox for the first time, I fell in love. firefoxsm.gif :P

My main problem has been with Firefox not responding, but heck, that happens with YM, AIM, Thunderbird, etc. etc. etc. That's just my computer being naughty. You should have heard all the swearing when I was using IE.

Firefox here. It's very easy to use and the security features it offers makes for a safer online experience. I really only use IE for sites that require it.

^^^ what he said. Also, if you're using the beta already, be sure to report your problems to the Mozilla Bugzilla. The Mozilla Foundation has a set of Bug writing guidelines and there is also a good article about writing effective bug reports. The generic information in them is also useful for writing problem reports or complaints for anything, even if it's not computer-related.

The best way to write a bug report is to write down exactly what you did that made the problem happen and to include any steps you took to fix it, and their results. If it involves visiting a specific site, be sure to mention that. If you have the problem with a certain extension installed, but when the extension is disabled, everything works, then the bug is likely in the extension.

The most important thing to do in getting a bug fixed is making it reproducible. If the developers can't make it happen, they don't know what to fix.

I use Firefox. I've tried that Internet Explorer thing, and it keep crashing on me. Couldn't sim for more then 30 minutes. (If I could vote twice my second vote would be 'Oh, boy, a poll! I love polls!')

I dunno. I've only used Firefox a few times, usually when I had to sim on my bro's computer. I've never really had problems with IE. I don't like the layout/look/something like that of Firefox too. (though that might just be cause i'm not used to it)

If the look is an issue, then you can always try out different themes/skins.  Luna Blue is an IE-Like skin for Firefox.  Also take a look at some of the themes and add-ons.  Maybe if you see one you like, it'll get your interest more.

That'll happen as soon as the 360 joins the electronic lynch mob.
