Star Trek Games for PC

ok, i'm curious...a few people have cool pictures of characters on their profile that looked like something from The Sims: Star trek style...well, i was wondering how they got em.

Also, i was wondering what yall would recommend what ST game i should get for my pc.

I really liked the Elite Force series, and Star Trek: Armada I and II are also good if you like more strategy-based games.

ELITE FORCE!! One or Two, both games are solid, but I am partial to Elite Force 2.

Actually, Elite Force 2 is probably the reason I am involved with STSF today. I started to on-line game with Elite Force 2 back in 2003, which led me to join some gaming groups that played the game, which led me to eventually check out on-line RPGing with Star Trek Simulation Forum.

That was too much information wasnt it? :P

They're done using The Sims 2 Bodyshop, which can be downloaded for free off of the official Sims 2 website I believe. The Trek uniforms are done using custom clothing skins which can be found (also for free) in various places around the net.

Well, I'd say one of the most promising Star Trek games, at least in concept, hasn't even hit store shelves yet. It's a MMORPG from Perpetual Entertainment. Go here to see more about it. Unfortunately, it is still in development, even though it was supposed to start beta testing this year. :: sigh :: Hopefully we intrepid Star Trek fans won't be dissapointed again by a game with a lot of hype but mediocre gameplay.

Yeah Star Trek Online is a game i'm really looking for too. Im gona get it on the first day and get to work on my character and hopfully beat all of you to Captain! Also coming in the near future Star Trek Legacy looks really great.

If your looking for great games right now, check out Star Trek Fleet Command 1, 2, and 3.

I'd also recommend Elite Force. So far I've only played the first part 'cos it's almost impossible to buy those games over here.

I also played a demo of Away Team and quite liked it.

As for Armada... I didn't bother to get the second one 'cos I found the first one way to easy to get through. It was simply no fun.

Bridge Commander is also fun game to consider. Since it's old, you can probably find it in the bargain bin at your local Wal-Mart.

That depends on the Wal-Mart. A lot of them aren't stocking anything but the newest, most popular PC games anymore because of the success of console gaming.

Fleet Command is alot better than the Armada series, if you like to get really into the stratgey side of gaming then go with FC.

As a rule for both movies and games, sequels suck.

I hope you're not including Trek films in that blanket statement! :P

Ive played the Demo for FC 2 and it was awsome. I cant find the full version anywhere. I do have number one but it wont work on any of my comps.....

As for the other games Elite Force is awsome. Bridge Commander is my favorite game ever next to the original SW TIE Fighter. Armada is a good game to. Im current making my way through it again. Great game I highly recommend it. Armada two on the other hand I dont know much about. Ive downloaded the demo and it seems good but one seems to be a bit better.

Well you find it in anystore anymore. There was a lawsuit agenst Activition and they were forced to stop production, so they are rare and sold at around $45(EBay used)-$150(new and unopen). You would be lucky to get it around the 45 range.

Elite Force rocked.

I have yet to buy Elite Force II off of E-bay, but I'm sure I will sometime in the near future.

I did find an expansion pack for Elite Force and bought it off E-bay for $1.

It was really cool. It didn't do anything as far as the standard game was concerned, but there was an option to explore Voyager, which let you roam the ship as much as you liked. There were little collectibles that you could search for and pick up along the way. I found it very diverting.

I've got the Expansion Pack too. I believe that it also included Jeri Ryan's voice as Seven of Nine rather than the other voice actor.

Elite Force 2 expanded on that a bit, and I agree, I got a kick out of exploring the ship (although, in this case it was Enterprise E).
