Back where I belong

In January of this year, I was told my services were no longer needed as a game tester. Last week the following happend.

I accepted a job with NCO Finical. Two days into the training. On the night of the second, I recieved an e-mail about a job I interviewed for 2 months ago. I called the guy up during my lunch break on the 3rd day of training with NCO.

I am a GAME TESTER AGAIN! *Does funky dance* I told my boss after lunch to enjoy training the other people since I QUIT! Then I had an hour to get to my new job. WHICH I LOVE! Best part of this whole little story is, besides me being employed as a tester, is the look on my boss face when I told its over, I quit. My boss also protested my carrier change since according to her there is no future in gaming.

To those fans of EA Games, all I can promise is I will do my best to insure the game is the highest quality possibility for a bug free enviroment.

Great! try and test Battlefield 2142, and make sure it doesn't have any bugs

what-so-ever, or if there is one, just tell me only so i can take advantage of it. just kidding, have fun with your job!

I am curious - how exactly does one become a game tester? ::prepares to take notes::

1) Championships help. This will prove to any developer that you are a serious gamer. You have gone to prove you are the best and won.

2) Attention to detail. Find the bugs, and note them. Sometimes a bug is in just one build, but finding it could make or break a game.

3) Writting style. One of the key demands of the job is being able to tell the dev team they made a mistake, without insulting them. You have to be able to classifie the bug correctly, and how likely a user will hit it.
