Well, I clicked on the pic, and it expands, but then gets very small. :P

What exactly is funny Captain? Mispelled state or something?

It was small on mine too... so i just copied it and pasted onto Paint :P

I see it, lol . Why would anyone want to name a city Dennis???

I guess technically, Township of Dennis, New Jersey. I looked it up, cause I'm that weird. What I want to know is, Why does Google point out the small "Township of Dennis," but doesn't point out some more important stuff, like New Jersey's capital? or even cities in Wyoming... wait... nevermind, there's nothing in Wyoming anyway...

The town I live in, Red Oak, historical rumor has that it was originally named "Possom Trot". Which, was better than our neighbors "Skunk Crossing" (now Rockett). And Waxahachie which most people who live there would say it means "Buffalo Crossing" in Caddo Indian but others say they were playing a joke on white settlers and it actually means "Buffalo $#!%".

Want a laugh, at least until July 21? Try Googling Dennis, NJ, and click on the link for the township's homepage, First bullet up?

THE ONLY LIQUOR DISTRIBUTION LICENSE AVAILABLE IN DENNIS TOWNSHIP WILL BE SOLD AT AN OPEN AUCTION JULY 21, 2006 AT 11:00 AM. More information on the "Public Notices" page.

So... Any STSFers in Dennis Twp, place a bid and, if you get lucky, open up your own liquor store.

Omg that's just too funny. I grew up in Walnut Grove Missouri and it has always been referred to as "Possom Trot"

There's a town in Rockland County, NY, just across the border from Jersey, whose original name was "Muddy Creek". The railroad barons that put the train station there in the late 19th Century-early 20th Century thought the name was too negative, so they renamed the town "Pearl River".

And having worked in Pearl River, and going to my grandfather's Volvo dealership there, while he owned it, I can tell you all this, quite succinctly: There are no pearls, and the creek is as muddy as it was a hundred years ago.

That's no worse than Ajo, AZ (Ajo is Garlic in spanish)..

and I presume no one on these boards lives in Normal, Illinois, though perhaps Why, AZ would work.

And btw, Xantara... have you considered a lighter purple? I have to highlight your text to read it w/ the black background! Nice color.. just hard to read.

The only choices for color are blue red purple orange yellow gray green. How do I get a lighter purple??? Or even pink, I could deal with pink.
