Tactical Officer's Report

Tactical Officer's Report, SD 10606.26: Lt. Marx, recording.

LCDR Trichon’s team was successful in retrieving the nonvolatile memory of the SS Sussex, NAR- 143256, crippled during an attack five parsecs out of Elasia. The computer is currently in the process of reconstructing that data, so that we will be able to review the events that led up to her destruction. One of the few things we were able to reconstruct was the passenger and crew manifests. On a normal run, the Perth-class carries up to 124 passengers and crew. And, regrettably, the Sussex had a full complement of paying passengers. Out of 124, we were able to retrieve only 27 passengers, crew, and stowaways. We also retrieved an away team from the ENS Hattro. Their away team is currently in guest quarters under the watchful eyes of the Marines, and all non-Starfleet frequencies are currently being jammed to prevent any transmissions that might jeopardize this vessel, in accordance to blackout procedures, which the Elasians seem to violate on a regular and consistent basis.

Starfleet Flight Following has confirmed that the Sussex was on a run from Starbase 12 to Starbase 214, with stops at Beta Rigel, Goren, Risa, Starbase G-6, Planet Q, Starbase 2, and Penthara.

Damage to the Sussex was extremely critical, with significant venting of the port side; after portion of the primary hull; and total rupture of the main cargo hold. The port nacelle and interconnecting dorsal was destroyed. Shock damage was suffered to the vessel’s warp core, resulting in warp core breach, and subsequent destruction of the vessel.

There were no fatalities amongst the Arcadia’s away team, and only one injury of note: Dr. Andrea Knollwatcher suffered blunt force trauma to the head, due to falling debris, and is currently being treated by her quacks…er, medical staff. There were 11 additional fatalities in Sickbay of the Sussex survivors, due to the levels of trauma suffered.

Sensor analysis of the damage to the Sussex indicates definite disruptor use during the attack. Blast pattern analysis is indicative of Class II disruptors, with additional plasma damage noted along the starboard warp nacelle and forward dorsal section of the cargo pod. Due to the relative distance of the Tellun binary star system, Romulan and Klingon malfeasance can be ruled out, particularly due to treaty, and general lack of activity along both borders. It is the opinion of the Tactical Officer, that rebel forces may have gotten a Soltok-class battlecruiser, despite original assurances to the contrary by the Regent, Lord Koshic N’Dak.
