As many of you know, Teresa was in a very bad accident a couple weeks ago. Her semi jack knived in a rain storm and landed in a median. Right now, she is recovering in a PA hospital. Hopefully soon, they will move her to a local hospital in Ohio. While her injuries are healing nicely, her emotions have taken quite a toll. In fact, she hasnt said a word since her accident. I wanted to ask you all if you could send to her an email or write things here that you think might encourage her to feel better. I will send your messages on to her. I have been asking just about everyone she knows to help and pray. I have been checking her emails and reading your logs to her. Please, keep them coming. Thank you all for your help and prayers. I know she thinks very highly of this group and she has friends here, too. I will write more about her progress later. Thank you all. Martha (Teresa's Mom)

Teresa,

Even in the darkest moments of our lives, there is always hope. That hope is what carries us through from day to day. The hope that our lives have some sort of meaning and that there is something greater that sustains and holds all things together.

I was saddened when your mother posted this message. I had not heard about this news. Having simmed with you many times, though, I always sensed a person full of life and hope. I always sensed a person who knew what it meant to have fun.

Don't let discouragement take control of your life. Don't let that which was intended to bring you down carry the victory at the end of the day. Fight hard and fight strong, and know that you are not fighting alone.

Tonight I offer you a message of hope. Your mother asked for prayer...you've got it here. I believe that there is a God...and that he has a special plan for your life. I believe that He holds and sustains all things. He, as well as I, am standing by your side.

God bless,

Grom's Player

If I've learned anything from this group of people, I've learned that they are very caring people. I know that the people here on this forum have helped me get through one very difficult time in my life, and I have faith that they will once again come through for a fellow simmer. I had not heard of the accident, but I am deeply saddened by it. I pray that everything turns out well. If you need anything at all, I'll be here. God bless.

Teresa,

Though I haven't always been all over the forum sometimes, your posts have sometimes been fun like your inroduction of a caption contest or have been noble like the appeals for thought on things outside of our day to day lives like the Earthquake in Pakistan, but one thing they have all been is interesting. I look forward to recovery and hope that one day you can return to your sim in a gigantic triumphant return.

Cheers,

Teresa,

Simming with you for the past few years on the Arcadia has given me an insight on yourself, I'd like to think that I've gotten to know you a little better via the one hour a week we share together on the ship. While my thoughts are with you in these most troubling times for you, I am hoping for a speedy recovery from your injuries both physical and emotional. Though I can't know what you posibly have gone thru after your accident, I'm hopeful that you'll eventually recover and return to your former self. Based on what I know from you from your sims, I'm certain it's not impossible. Best of luck in your recoveries. If life has taught me ont thing: Anything can be accomplished if you possess the desire to do it.

Teresa,

I was deeply saddened when I heard what had happened. I, like most everyone else, can't possibly know what you are going through right now. All I can do is pray for you and wish you a speedy recovery. I can't wait for you to return to us on Arcadia when you are ready to, but in the meantime, please take care of yourself and bounce back to the lovely, energetic chief we all know and love :).

Teresa,

My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you, more now than ever. You are a loving, caring, nurturing person, and now it's time for us to care for you. Remember we are always here for you.

The beauty of cyberspace is, in my mind, that no matter where you are in the world and what your circumstance, those who know you here are always available, waiting to help.

The beauty of our forum is that we get to know one another well enough to have a heartfelt response whenever any of us is in need. You have always been forthcoming when you were needed. Now is your time of need. Now is our time to help.

Take life - as has already been said - one step at a time, one moment at a time if need be. You have my number. Call me. Talk to me.

And remember, as Grom said, there is always hope.

Psalm 71:14

Isaiah 40:31

God bless,

Hi everyone! Two very good pieces of news: Teresa has moved to a hospital in Columbus and she spoke today! I know it may seem odd to celebrate that someone is talking, but she hasnt in nearly 2 weeks. Jami, I read your last entry from this board and she said (in a very low, raspy voice), "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." I asked her why she hadnt spoken before and she barely said, "I just couldnt."

I cant thank you all enough for your words of comfort. The emails and words here have been so dear, even to me. For the first time, I have some real hope for her full recovery. Martha

Teresa, I wish you much luck, love, and a speedy recovery. Try not to be too scared, because there is a shield of protection from those around you.

An Irish Prayer

May God give you...

For every storm, a rainbow,

For every tear, a smile,

For every care, a promise,

And a blessing in each trial.

For every problem life sends,

A faithful friend to share,

For every sigh, a sweet song,

And an answer for each prayer.

And don't forget to say, "Arrrrrrrr..." for the flying spaghetti monster. :) (And simply because it's fun to say).

Keep healing. If you were nearby, I'd sneak my dog in to lick your toes. She's small but it seems to be her special talent.

Wow, the ole' Star Trek website. It feels like its been an eternity. Its so nice to be back. I have alot of thank you's to give everyone. Some, I already have through EMails. Others, I will have to catch here. If I've missed ya, you can yell at me at [email protected].

Foremost, thank yous to those onboard the USS Arcadia. You guys were so good to my Mom when she visited. She felt very special, part of the family. I really appreciated that. She still talks about you guys when family or friends visit. I told her she should create a character and join the group. She said she might not be able to keep up. We will have to convince her.

Id also like to thank Jami and A9, who are not part of the Arcadia (that I know) but really helped get my Mom through the first couple weeks. Since we've gotten back to Columbus, she has been able to work more, so she hasnt been online as much. But, she really appreciates chatting with you guys. (Im sure she will be back). The way she talks about everyone, its like she knows everyone like I do. Scarey, eh?

Mom got me a laptop to use to get online for the next couple weeks, until I can get home again. Im not sure when that will be. But Im sure our medical department will be well taken care of, what with our new acting medical officer, and all.(congratulations, Miranda! Promo too, I love it. =0])

Its so nice to look at the boards again. Your posts are a sight for sore eyes.

Thanks to everyone for your posts and EMails. They've meant alot to me.

More later.

Good to see that you're recovering!

In all the years I've known her, she's never had enough money to buy her vowels.

Get better quick, Andrea. We miss you on the Arc!

Get well soon. My uncle did the same type of thing about 28 years ago, and it was a tough recovery.

Best wishes,

I don't think I've ever seen a more apt description of STSF.

In that case, someone is way overdue with my allowance and can I have the STSF hover car this weekend?
