Ready and Willing

Kat stood on the transporter. Her hand was on her phaser, as per her normal readiness for an away mission. Who knows what's going to be there when they dematerialize on the surface. She was not going to be caught off guard again. Not if she could help it. She still had the last episode fresh in her mind. The one that had gotten her demoted.

She took a deep breath as if getting herself ready for transport, but it was actually a sigh if releif that she had been placed on a ship that at least she had someone she knew and could confide it. She so much wanted to tell the Security Chief that she was not a newbie fresh out of The Academy, but then that would be disobeying orders. Thats one thing Kat would not do. She had never disobeyed orders, no matter how much she disliked the order given. Well, almost anyway.

Kat took her stance and was ready when the question came out. "OK everyoneReady?"

"Aye Sir," Kat replied. "Ready for transport."
