Hello and welcome to the 'Cad!

Once you've settled in, be sure to head to the Redstar Nightclub for your first Warp Core Explosion and some mellow tunes!

And there's nothing shameful about a redshirt death!!

See you in the academy sims!!

No, Redshirt survival. That's shameful. They don't get paid to live.

Indeed, indeed.

Always make sure your redshirt is immaculate. It's the last thing you'll wear

Hello and Welcome to STSF. This is a good crew here.

Only thing you need to watch out for is the t'Venus sFly'Trap - it was brought here by the Rihannsu and placed in the Lobby - it snaps.

Check out the Moose Tips (Under the Academy topic section), Help, and Rules (Both under the STSF header) sections. Once you do venture into an academy, the GM's and fellow players are great helpers. And you have fun at the same time, so it's all good.

And don't believe all these crazy rumors about cadets getting killed by the GM's in the acad...**AHHHHHHHH** **MRRPHHHHH** !!!

<ACTION> Kansas is attacked by the t'Venus sFly'Trap

Happy Simming!

- Kansas >^..^<

Thanks for the tips guys. I looked them up and I think they'll make a real diffrence. There is one question I have though. I understand how one can graduate the academy, but how does one get promoted in Adv. Sims and how offten?

Well I can only speak from my experience with my sim. I believe it is a mixture of things such as your advanced sim attendance levels, your creative input, your length of service and your roleplay ability coupled with log writing and story flow. Of course, all the other things which helped graduation still apply in the advanced sims too.

I'm sure someone less fuzzy about it will reply though

Finn got it right.

There is one thing I'd like to add. Rank really isn't that important. There's no big difference between playing an Ensign and a Lieutenant once you've established your character and his/her position on a ship/station.

Hi there and welcome to STSF. As all the other's have said rank doesn't matter that much once you get onto the advanced sim, But to answer part of your question it took me around 2 years to make Lt.Cmdr but every advanceed sim and the Gm's are different. The idea is really to have fun and enjoy yourself and the promotions will come as you get better at all sorts of simming, oh and i might add one more thing, avoid doing anything to spend time in the brig once on the advanced sim. I spent 4 weeks in the brig  and its not recomened.
