Everyone will follow on in their greetings. Some are nice, some are just plain odd :D but welcome to the community!

It's a good crew, and I've got to get them ho...no wait a minute, it's a good crew here and everyone makes ya feel welcome!

I'll see you in the sim tomorrow night if you're there, and then in the Redstar Nightclub on Saturday night. I'll buy you your first WCE - every new cadet needs one to kick start their career I reckon! :D

Welcome. While I'm sure Finn means well, I'm not sure that it's a good idea to take that Warp Core Explosion... Certainly not before a sim!

Hello and Welcome to STSF. This is a good crew here.

Only thing you need to watch out for is the t'Venus SFly'Trap - it was brought here by the Rihannsu and placed in the Lobby - it snaps.

Check out the Moose Tips (Under the Academy topic section), Help, and Rules (Both under the STSF header) sections. Once you do venture into an academy, the GM's and fellow players are great helpers. And you have fun at the same time, so it's all good.

And don't believe all these crazy rumors about cadets getting killed by the GM's in the acad...**AHHHHHHHH** **MRRPHHHHH** !!!

<ACTION> Kansas is attacked by the t'Venus sFly'Trap

Happy Simming!

Ah yes I would do my whole Red shirt shpeel here but I already did it before your first mission so I will just emphisis on the point of trying not to get too much blood on the Red shirt!. Have fun and I look forward to simming with you again. Oh and one more thing Dont trust that finn character when it comes to the WCE I have yet to try one but the way I have seen people respond to them is just not pretty! I guess my reasoning for not getting plastered is because I rather enjoy my place on the stage with the rest of the red star band! Hope to see you at the Red star!

On Friday, I completed my second sim and I had alot of fun.I really cant wait till i graduate and get a chance to develop my character. Those of y'all who have already graduated please give me any tips on how i can make sure I am impressing the GMs and what did you did on your graduating sim.Well I have to go (I'm in class right now lol) so I'll be bock.<does really corny terminator impression>

Kind of interesting?? heheh.

My advice on graduating would be to simply throw yourself into the sim. Be proactive within reason and work with your department and your DCO.

I beefed up on technobabble during my graduation sim and I'm no technobabblist. I think the GM's can usually tell if a player is ready by their gameplay rather than their 'heroic' or 'unheroic' actions. If you have a handle on the game and can work well within the rules, then that's kinda cool.

Of course, I wouldn't want to second guess the GM's. As Kansas mentioned, the Moose tips are a huge help in graduating.

That said, I really really enjoyed my academy days and still sim whenever I can. I wouldn't have minded being stuck in the academy for years!

(Although I have to say, the longer plotlines in the advanced sims are pretty fantastic!)

Good luck!

During the sim in which I graduated I played in my leas favourite department, got lost completely and only accidentally followed the Action Statements.

I was just about to write a long post but actually I think it's best to just ask the GMs after a sim if you have questions about how to improve. After all they are the ones who know best what it takes to graduate.

Yah.Thanks for the advice. And Finn something tells me you loved ur college days too. But my technobabble really needs to inprove and considering the fact that i like to play in ENG i really need to work on that. I'll ask the GMs follow their advice and hope that cuts the part.

Yes, as many here are mentioning, the GMs are not looking for heroics or being the center of the plot. As long as we see an understanding of sim-play and that you can work well (and use appropriate chain of command) with others, you're on the right track. A rule of thumb that some use is "would I want this person on my Advanced sim crew?"

And as for technobabble, this is why I came up through the ranks as a Security officer. All I had to do was wear the red shirt, carry the phaser and continually throw myself in front of the landing party / on the grenade when trouble starts. I had my own biobed in sickbay, reserved for me whenever I went to the Transporter Room (well maybe not EVERY time...)

I *knew* there was some reason we got along!

t'Ksa (Maenek Evil of the Talon) has my name engraved on a biobed!
