Mystery

There was a palatable buzz in the air around the city of Cor Capitalia. Both modern and ancient the city stood as a testament to the strength and will of the people of Elasia, of the Rohland. The glittering Hall of N’Dak shone above like a second sun in the brilliant sky.

Alexei Telna stepped out into the sun and onto the busy streets, carefully watching his back as he headed through the crowd. The young Starfleet officer moved seamlessly through the crowd, smaller than all of the men, he slipped undetected through the throng.

The streets had become more dangerous lately as rumors and tensions continued to mount around the planet. Whispers in the darkness, eyes in the shadows; he picked up his pace. Glancing for a moment he saw the large screen displaying the planetary interlink. He could only hear bits and pieces, but what he heard forced him to pick up his pace.

The Isian states will no longer set by and allow traditions to dictate policy for our sovereign peoples. The Man was tall and dark, but not in complexion so much as façade. Dressed in deep shades, Alexei recognized him as the newly elected Marshal of the Isian Free State.

It had been hundreds of years since any of the confederated states that made up Elasia had taken such a posture, a posture that rejected the oligarchic council that ruled the planet and its colonies.

Alexei glanced around. Where was he. An overwhelming since of dread filled him as he glanced around nervously. A heavy hand clasped onto his shoulder, “Alexei Telna…”

_____

As the Arcadia endeavored to communicate with their new “friend” the Crystalline life form; Koshic’s mind weighed heavily. He’d received a series of cryptic, and disturbing messages from his cousin and Vice-Roy Coreth about Elasia. He’d also seen bits and pieces on FSN. He’d tried to keep up with it all as best he could; but given how busy he’d been lately…

He sighed as he continued imputing the code into the terminal. Something sent a tingle down his spine, but what…he’d have to see.
