Hello and welcome to the 'Cad fellow Brit :)

I'm in Yorkshire and so have the same problem with 'unfriendly' time zones :)

I play mostly at the weekends and during the week when I'm on leave. To work out the time zones, I use the following link to know what time they're on compared to me (us)

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/eastern-time/

Hope this helps. See ya in the Academy!!

Welcome to STSF!

It would help to read some of the following stuff:

Tips From Moose

Academy Sim Logs

Also, you might want to paint a "dart board" on your Red Shirt their *Cough*

Few things you might like like to watch out for which will "help" you in your travels are those pesky Pandarians (hope I spelled that right), those are sure to help you a bit, and watch out for Kansas, she has a special gift she wants to give to everyone soon enough, but ill let her explain :)

Thanks for the welcome, i'm in Lancashire hope you don't hold it against me Finn.

Can I watch simms in progress uninvolved, just to get a feel for things?

Now now, don't go frightening off cadets with talk of Pandarians!! :D

Or is it just me who would prefer Borg assimilation to Pandarian interaction?!!?!!

In addition to what Vatric said it's also good to watch some advanced sims if you want.

Oh, and welcome to STSF!

Ah, that would mean we'd get decent beer...not just water.

Anyway welcome to STSF.

I'm in Germany so I, like all you guys from the UK, know about the problem with timezones. Maybe one day we'll get a European- friendly sim. Until then we'll just have to be 'reallly dedicated simmers' (a.k.a. crazy).

Hope to see you around the Academies.

Oh yeah I forgot that Lepage is in the European neighbourhood too. :D

Hmmm a few more numbers and a Europe trip might actually someday be a reality rather than one of my rantings, a strange thought.

But because no idea of mine can be without a bit of oddness I declare 2027 as the date for the first official STSF inter-continental rugby match.

As long as it's on a Tuesday at around 9am. :D (that way we get the advantage for a change with the time zones!!)

Hey there, and welcome aboard,I will just take the oppurtunity to echo the suggestions my fellow mates have made...that being said watch out for the Kansas special floral welcoming gift arrangment, and definitely one addition not mentioned previously... ::sitting patting his triple show chromed plated, warp powered universal kitchen device:: anyway, have fun, join inthe fun as much as possible.

Oh just an idea mind you, pilots(self incl.) use the international time refer (GMT) as a standard for time zone, and flight time calculations, you may be able to pick up a quick reference table at your local airdrome,it may help welcome once again to our community, look forward to meeting you.. :D

Ok....I am having trouble getting into the Academy. Can anyone please help me? I am at my wits end!!

Okay walk us through what the problem is and I'm sure we can help and unlike most technical problem forums we won't shout these classic statements.

1. Restart your computer! I mean, God! Its so obvious, restart it!

2. You're using pirated software aren't you? I knew it! You Pirate! You filthy scoundrel!

Seriously, the number of times people reply with these types of comments to my queries on most boards scares me...besides I've always considered myself more of a gentleman of fortune than a mere pirate.

In short, we're here to help. Whats stopping you getting to the academies Trekgirl?

Hello and Welcome to STSF. This is a good crew here.

Only thing you need to watch out for is the t'Venus SFly'Trap - it was brought here by the Rihannsu and placed in the Lobby - it snaps.

Check out the Moose Tips (Under the Academy topic section), Help, and Rules (Both under the STSF header) sections. Once you do venture into an academy, the GM's and fellow players are great helpers. And you have fun at the same time, so it's all good.

And don't believe all these crazy rumors about cadets getting killed by the GM's in the acad...**AHHHHHHHH** **MRRPHHHHH** !!!

<ACTION> Kansas is attacked by the T'Venus SFy'Trap

Happy Simming!

- Kansas >^..^<
