I can't decide which I like better Finn's or Murdok's, though Finn if you could touch up where it says Star Trek Simulation Forum and where the Federation Symbols are so the background isn't black for those it look much better

Murdok, my opinion for the Starfleet Insignia, is that use the TMP pin! I think it might look the best with your design, that or the DS9/VOY Insignia

In testing, you can shrink it to about 35% current size and it is still readable.

My only thoughts remain about the lettering of "STSF." It seems to...I don't know...blend in a little. It doesn't stick out and grab you.

 

Also, any thought to using a newer version of the communicator pin? Not certain what difference (if any) it would have, was just kind of curious what it would look like.

Yes, make the letters stand out, or the background less busy. Also, I would lean toward Star Trek fonts, not Olde Englishe, for the letters.

Actually, if you want to include a bit about the history of this forum, you might do something that suggests the Rebel Allaince. Say a Rebel Allaince avitar or an X-Wing "easter egg" or something like that.

It's a nice idea (anyone remember my tuxedo vest from ShoreLeave about 7 years ago?) but it could change too often as ships come and go and we want an all-purpose logo that can be used for many functions and at many sizes. If you try and shrink that down, you lose any detail (and I don't see a Nebula-class on there, do you?)

 

REMINDER TO ALL: Do not used any copyrighted material such as screen captures from TV shows or movies. We can use the words Star Trek as we have gotten approval for that, but make sure any ships used are your own artwork.

Wanted to go a tottaly different way with it. The other logo seemed to be way to busy this one is a lot more simple. Its using the template of StarFleet departments, Medical, Eng, Sec ect.

 

The text was a bit rushed this is a rought one, the final one will be a more polished.

 

Any thoughts?

First, I honestly love that banner. Still like the earlier versions of the logo though...with the "STSF" adjusted.

If you could brighten the LCARs a bit, and maybe make the text look not so blurry it would look better, but I really like the design you made their.

Yeah, it looked okay on photoshop, but didn't transfer well to this screen. I'll brighten them and use the white text like the Talon's text. I'll update it tomorrow night.

Modified original idea, taking out the ship and added a mostly transparent screen with all the current sim names.

I really love all of these graphics, but remember that we need something that won't be out of date if we add or retire a sim and we also need something that can be sized up and down without becoming unreadable or a jumble. Think of logos for major corporations and realize how they are stylized simplicity (hmm, not sure if that made sense, but I hope you understand my point of view)

Just wanted to know which one i should work on from now on and make it look better?

Both are in a rought stage so the text on option a will be better. And B will have STSF somewhere on there when i can get it to look good.
