Calling all Graphic Designers

About once a year, I ask this question and it's time again!!

 

STSF would like to have a cool logo. This is not something that will be voted on by the Forum as a whole, but will be looked at by the GM Council. We won't necessarily pick any of the proposed logos (for example, we've had two logo contests already, but nothing has been chosen).

 

The logo must have the full name in it and can also have "STSF" as well. If it is chosen, it would become property of STSF, so don't look for royalties to be pouring in and helping with that retirement plan of yours. Beyond that, be creative!

Whatever you'd like. I would think a mix of text and graphic would be more interesting, but you don't want it to be "too busy" either. Thanks

Alrighty Than Here is an Idea that I did today.

Actually, a failed attempt...but maybe someone can use the idea and get it to turn out right

 

 

Was hoping to have the existing logo zoom out to fill the screen...while the text was still rolling. I'm sure I could do it....but lifeforce levels are too low for that much effort.

Hmm, you said Logo though my first thought and looks like the thoughts of other was banner instaid. Are you looking for a "Logo" or a banner type logo, or just bannerish designs? Anyway, here's something else.

Uhmm, yes. We are looking for a logo, but we would use it as a banner as well. It would be nice to have something that is distinctively STSF's and we would use it for banners, the tops of every web page, silly itmes for sale at cafepress, maybe even signature blocks for GM e-mails, etc., etc.

I like it Murdok, but not to be nit-picky, it says "Star Trek Simulation Forums" and I think it's supposed to say "Forum".

Helios has the best so far. I'm guessing you'll need the TM mark on "Star Trek" in the logo itself too.

 

My search for "Harry Mudd" hasn't gone well. It Was around 10 years ago. One odd thing, doing a Google Image search for A9 gives you alot of random stuff...including a fat guy welding in the nude. Most disturbing. :)

I like the nautical feel behind the SF symbol, though I'm not sure I like the S T S F...it comes across a little blurry.

Here's my first submission.

 

Very slick layout. I like "Star Trek" nice and big as you have it, and the whole layout in general. Can you make the planets maybe shades of blue and/or darker so that they don't contrast with the words quite so much? And maybe the white in the letters have a light blue tint? (just imposing personal taste here, but would love to see it...)

Hey there,

 

My only thoughts remain about the lettering of "STSF." It seems to...I don't know...blend in a little. It doesn't stick out and grab you.

 

Also, any thought to using a newer version of the communicator pin? Not certain what difference (if any) it would have, was just kind of curious what it would look like.
