Hooked yourselves another one!

27 posts in this topic

Hello there. I've been searching the past two weeks for a decent Star Trek sim (or group of sims) after taking a couple of years hiatus. Managing to find a few, I didn't get any response at all back! Hopefully this will be different, and I'll be attending one of your academies tonight in the Holodeck. I wonder if I'll suffer a tragic death...?

Anyway, my character is Andrew Mitchell, a young doctor specializing in comparative anatomy who has decided to pursue the stars. Should I post a bio now, later, or at all? And should I focus primarily on science and medical posts in the academy or branch out to let the pieces of Mitchell fall where they may? Thanks much!

Welcome to STSF! I'm so glad you decided to come join us. :)

You don't have to post a biography yet, no. After you graduate from the academy and are assigned to an advanced simulation, then you create a biography for your character.

Also, it is encouraged that you play varied posts in the academy so that you get a good feel for all of them. Personnel members are cross-trained so that they may assume any role on a simulation if it is required. :)

Hope that helps!

Hello Grae, and welcome.

Don't forget the RedStar nightclub tonight too. I'll get you a drink in!

See ya in the sims!

Hey, great. Thanks for the info... I'll pop by the club, even if I'm not sure what that's all about.

Hah, and thirty seconds later, I find the link to the Redstar Nightclub 'site.

Well, seeing as how the others answered your Bio question and the really important stuff...I get to be silly and break out my plant shtick. (Note - it is a t'Venus...not a T'Venus SFly'Trap, as informed by Adm. BluRox in another thread. Hey, I'm not a plant person. :) Welcome Grae!)

Hello and Welcome to STSF. This is a good crew here.

Only thing you need to watch out for is the t'Venus SFly'Trap - it was brought here by the Rihannsu and placed in the Lobby - it snaps.

Check out the Moose Tips (Under the Academy topic section), Help, and Rules (Both under the STSF header) sections. Once you do venture into an academy, the GM's and fellow players are great helpers. And you have fun at the same time, so it's all good.

And don't believe all these crazy rumors about cadets getting killed by the GM's in the acad...**AHHHHHHHH** **MRRPHHHHH** !!!

<ACTION> Kansas is attacked by the T'Venus SFy'Trap

Happy Simming!

- Kansas >^..^<

Dying for your Federation is easy. Staying alive for the ensuing enemy torturing you is harder :)

Cheers! The famed red-shirt... Well, it /is/ about time I had a truly gruesome death, and at that, played Security (TOS-era, anyway). Still holdin' out for Medical! Before I graduate, I will be medical at least once!

Either way, it's pointless semantics. However, I was referring to the ionized gas and the tool often used in random circumstances through out Star Trek, normally in Jefferies tubes.

Mostly, the point was Medical > Engineering. :)

Oh, and tonight is NDak's sim. He the GM who set the record for killing cadets.

the Record, I do not hold the Record for Cadet Deaths, the honor belongs to tonight's Mistress of Mayhem and Supreme Ruler of the Evil Realms, Blu.

She also holds the record for most consecutive "Ships go BOOM" sims, with 47. :)

At any rate, welcome to the Academy Grae. :)
