The Red Shirt Diaries!

63 posts in this topic

This is just a rather crazy Idea I had for a topic. What is the most unique deaths that you have faced in your travels and in the Academy sims. Seeing as we all have had to wear the enigmatic Red Shirt at some point this shoud be interesting.

Hmmm....I think my almost unique death was being almost killed by a primitive probe. My unique death is...well I'm not sure I remember. I have been in around 70+ acads and died more then 50 times. Oh wait, I remember being killed malled to death by pandarians. That was my first sim ever. I pretended to be a lieutenant because I didn't know what STSF was.

I really can't recall any interesting deaths in the line of redshirt duties. ;-)

At my very first sim I was stung to death by giant bees. I think that was the most peculiar way I've ever died.

My first sim was with N'Dak...I didn't know what the heck was going on. Just two intruders on the ship. We got to them...And I believe the words were..."He leaps at Carst, and spills his guts out."

Sorry everyone. I dont know what I was thinking when I posted this sick and sadistic topic. There must have been something laced into my waffles or something. Oh well Since I cant take it back I suppose Ill add my most unique death thus far. Considering I have only two deaths at this point it dosent require a whole lot of thought. I was at OPS and I hailed a ferengi freighter and we got a rather rude reply from them. So the XO had an ingenious Idea of having the CSEC start shooting space debree all around the freighter. They responded with a rather large burst of energy and fired a weapon very closely resembling that of the borg tractor beam. It cut a hole through the shields and well the end result is another Red Shirt buys the farm along with the rest of the ship.

Looking back, I think I died once in the Academy, and that was the one I graduated in.

Something along the lines of "captured by Romulans and killed off one by one".

My best death came back from a time when cadets were rarely killed mind you.

::Boring story mode::

I remember I was captain of a shiney Excelsior class ship, cant remember the name. Pandarians show up, this was my second experience with them. First time I ran into them Ringo riped my arms off in the woods and beat me with them.

Anyways, the Pandarians took over the ship like they always did, and then ate me infront of the crew

A9 that site just rocks man thanks!

Hey Travis there was a time when cadets rarely died???

I sorta thought that when we joined up we were issued our red shirts and told try not to get any blood on them. But really I cant say that much I think out of 6 sims so far I have died twice. Maybe I am breaking the red shirt curse?? Later yall and keep the Carnage coming!!! jjust kidding!

Hey Travis there was a time when cadets rarely died???

::Smiles:: There was a time, a long long time ago when:

8 Cadets in an academy was large

HOPS was a standard postion

Garnoopy was an Admiral

Travis was a Lieutenant

Dumbass was...er...still is a Dumbass

Lo'Ami and Precip were cadets

Along with otherthings I cant possibly remember at the moment :)

Edit: We also simmed in the Startrek.com chat rooms

Is the official word on that still "down for repairs, will be back shortly"?

Mmmmmaayyyybeee...

No, the official word (from when it was a Paramount entity) was that the chat rooms were rebuilt and only used for events with authors, actors, directors, etc.

I have not raised it again since their recent assimilation, but we're doing just fine in our own rooms, donchathink?

Not half as embarrassing as the fact that I was treating the bunnylings for injuries and must have completely overlooked the swords that they had behind their backs!!

Still, it was a good death

I loved being HOPS... though I never quite understood why we were making beer while battling the Pandarians.

Hmm and I wonder why there were red shirt fatalities???

Well...

I was around back at the apex of the Pandarian sims. And wow...those were some creative deaths. You never knew how, but eventually...they were going to eat you.

Trichon and I managed to escape to Risa once, leaving the crew behind to be lunch. Though Dac got us back...she ACTIONED our credit cards getting rejected.

From a GM point of view....I think the most creative death scene I ever envoked was the "giant-1980's-cellphone-sized-flesh-eating-fire-ants" tha, by the end of the sim, you wanted to get eaten by...hmm perhaps I should bring that one back...I haven't killed the cadets in like....10 sims!
