Kairi

That Split Second

In a split second of chaos, everything happened.

Kairi was working in engineering quietly. She had been goofing off with Saf moments before, finishing up the sensors, and running a diagnostic on other sub-systems.

Suddenly all communications with the bridge had stopped. Saf went to see what the problem was, and as soon as he left, everything in engineering sealed up. Main Engineering was on lock down. Kairi was trying to fix the problem when she looked up to see several armed Romulans around her.

She became startled and backed up into a console, but two of the Romulans pointed disruptors at her and made her move away.

Kairi was scared. She really didn't know what was going on or how this was even possible.

It was an odd feeling though. She knew she was scared and wanted to cry, but she knew she had to keep it together for the sake of the other engineers looking up to her. But at the same time, she fealt something else, something unexplainable. For the first time, she was really up close to her "people."
