Ego Bruising - a personal log

Jackson Appollo Craven's face was beet red. Which was a sharp contrast to the black eye he had.

 

"I er.....this has never happened to me before" there was a slight stutter in his voice as he spoke to the nurse, a beautiful young woman of about twenty. If he had to guess he would have pegged her as a Risian, but he knew little of such things.

 

Craven was in sickbay aboard the Excalibur. He could have been on board Camelot station, but he prefferred to remain on the ship while it was in mooring, after all, he had no quarters on the station and had no intention of getting any.

 

"Its ok, just tell me again what happened" She said softly with toothy smile.

 

"W-well I was just working on my latest android unit....er...that's what I do when I'm not on duty, you see.....and .....well" sweat was pouring down his face from the sheer embarrassment,

 

"....and it hit me."

 

The nurse looked up from her tricorder. "it hit you?" the nurse seemed almost annoyed that she was having to treat someone while the ship was moored. Certainly she had better things to do.

 

"Well it was really just the arm, I haven't constructed the positronic net or the rest of the exoskeleton yet, or for that matter the..." he stopped and realized he was losing her interest.

 

"Well what I mean was, I was building the arm and it hit me."

 

The nurse gave a dissinterested smile and finished his check up, "you can go now."

 

Craven gave a sheepish grin as he walked out, "She wants me."
