Cptn Corizon

Wait and See

Corizon fell back into the Command Chair of the Excalibur. They had faced the enemy. And they’d won – sort of. As the Excalibur headed home to Camelot, he couldn’t help but feel a since of relief. At least now, he knew what enemy they faced.

But the victory had come at a price. Commander Kennin had been lost – yes lost. There was no body. Thank the gods. He’d seen to many bodies lately. Sometimes, he thought, closure wasn’t always a good thing. So until Kennin’s body floated into view, he was officially missing in action.

And then there was Crispin. Skewered by one of the enemies and injected with who knows what kind of toxins, he’d need the full services of a star base to care for him. In the mean time, Lt. Tandaris Admiran would get an important lesson in command.

“Always look for the silver lining,” Corizon mumbled to himself.

With the Admiral in recovery, Corizon remained on the bridge until they’d finally docked at Camelot. At which time, Colonel Kimura and his marines began scouring the Excalibur for any traces of the intruders.

Corizon had better things to do. He was almost sure that those Scorpions, were indeed the same people who’d attacked the planet…and likely the ones causing all the problems in the quadrant. Well most of them anyway, the Vorta did tend to make problems more complicated.

Sorehl was, to say the least, interested in the happenings of the Excalibur and Corizon recounted them to him readily.

Unfourtunatly, the Dominion had yet to restore their communications grid completely, and were for the part ignoring Camelot. The “silver lining” was that the attacks had stopped. Interestingly, they’d stopped just a few moments after the attacking ship retreated from the battle field.

The pause was both relieving and daunting at the same moment. A nagging voice inside him whispered about the calm before the storm.

But at the moment, there was nothing he could do but wait. Wait and see.
