“A Scientist Again”

 

The widest smile plastered Jamie’s face as he looked around.

 

His desk was clean.

 

Not since the launch of the Agincourt four months ago had Jamie been able to see the bold colors of his oak desk. So many back filed reports, crew rosters, and other random things littered his own little fortress of solitude. The last three weeks had been good to Jamie. No Romulans, no undercover missions, anything.

 

He never thought he’d be so glad just to wake up, go to work and have a normal day. He could spend all day in the labs, overseeing experiments, making discoveries...Doing what he was supposed to be doing. N’Dak, and everything else that troubled him seemed light years away for now.

 

It felt good.

 

It felt good to be a scientist again.
