"Sedatives and Illusions"

"Sedatives and Illusions"

Lieutenant j.g. T'Parek

March 11, 2156

T'Parek leaned against the wall of the Brig and gazed at Challenger's visitor. She'd certainly been able to cause a bit of havoc in the short times that she was conscious.

Her thoughts drifted back to the rumors of a curse on the Nequencia colony. While supernatural intervention was not high on T'Parek's list of "reasons that the Challenger has had poor luck lately", she wondered how the crew would continue to react to the ongoing difficulties that the crew seemed to be having with the troublesome system. Quite a few communications had been sent from noncommissioned officers to their families recently, and more than one had compared Nequencia to the ancient tombs of Egypt, curses and all. Not that she was reading those private communiques, of course...

She turned her attentions back to the alien visitor unconscious before her. With any luck, the sedative that had been administered would be enough to keep the intruder unconscious until interrogation. The continued effects of the stun setting had caused the alien to go into convulsions, resulting in a heart attack, hence the sedative was required.

They were lucky that Lieutenant Westler had a bit of medical know-how. While Challenger's Vulcan had completed the basic medical training requirements for serving aboard a Starfleet ship, she had never delved far into the deeper aspects of medicine. She would have to rectify that shortcoming in her off time.

She predicted that the interrogation itself would be a rather difficult feat, considering that their guest seemed to have the power to create illusions. Considering how little the crew knew of the female's abilities, T'Parek thought it unwise to prod her on matters she may not be inclined to discuss until they knew more. And the Vulcan couldn't think of any topic that wouldn't set her off on an illusion rampage.

Always fascinating were the various disciplines of extrasensory perception and the like. With a little luck, she'd be able to learn a bit about the 'illusion-creating' facet.

They had their work cut out for them. That much was certain.
