Waiting Until October...

As for Baltar, I've always thought he was a Cylon anyway.  A-way back in the first season (I think), after he tested his own blood, Six said, "Congratulations.  You've found your first Cylon."  That, and the fact that he was in the resurrected Six's head a few episodes back.  Yep.  Bona fide Cylon.

He tested Boomer's blood, not his own.

I don't think he is a Cylon. Nor do I think he is consciously working with the Cylons. Subconsciously, however, is another story. In a way he is like the Baltar in the original series - not for or against Cylon or Humanity, just looking out for his own survival.

I STILL want to give Baltar a fat lip. Did I type that out loud?

Hey there,

Well, here's what I think is interesting. Baltar's action of giving that nuclear weapon to Gina, something we all knew would likely cause something horrible to happen, ends up coming back to bite the good Doctor in the rear. When he's president, that act haunts him when we learn exactly what the point of the explosion was.

One thing I will say that bothers me is this. Saying, for the moment, the Cylons had indeed left the 12 Colonies, we've seen the fleet does have an ability to return there. Why not attempt to do some covert supply runs to pick up medications and other items they were running low on? If indeed the Cylons weren't chasing them (and it seems that for most of the fast forward year they were not), wouldn't have been a big issue. Might have also allowed for a better level of society on New Caprica.

Because it takes a full squadron of Raptors 12 jumps to get there, and presumably 12 to get back, and the last time they tried it was hardly a secret.

Because they still don't trust the Cylons and can't be certain that they're telling the truth. ^_^

Okay, here's my question of what the heck happened over that year: What happened to HELO's Sharon and the two Dean Stockwells?? We saw that Helo is still on Galactica, probably because Sharon is there. but to assume that the status quo has been maintained for an entire year? that's a little extreme, don't you think?

Helo's Sharon was killed on Galactica. Helo who was on Caprica and Sharon who "found" him there (was ordered to find him and pretend, etc...) went back to Galactica, got pregnant, lost the child, etc. Helo is no longer on Caprica - they were rescued, 'member?

Yeah, I meant the one that Helo fathered a child with. The one that has been in the special brig for several months.

Presumably the two stockwells went out the airlock. The last half an hour makes me believe isn't just a dream seqeuence like everyone hopes, infact, Im hoping is isnt.

A lot of Galatica was backstories on the characters, with a majority of that filled out, the series has to press forward. Esspically since it's on its own now, and shouldn't really be compared to the original series.

I think that the next seaons will be rather exciting. With so few ships in the fleet, and those presumably only battle ready were kept in orbit, as part of the defense fleet it could be different. I can only guess the D is the XO of Pegasus now. I'm also guessing that Sharon, at least Helo's Sharon is dead.

I think it will also be rather cool to see how the Baltar and Six thing plays out. That, and the original Sharon and Tyrol could be interesting.

All I can say is that I'm working on that blasted time machine in the garage already ^_^

I'm also assuming that it's not a dream sequence. Last season, the introduction of Battlestar Pegasus into the plot was the long story arc. It's possible that saving humanity from the Cylons on New Caprica will be the focus of a good part of season 3.

It's not a dream sequence, I believe that Ronald D Moore clearly stated that in an interview or I think in his podcast ^_^

I thought at first if was a dream sequence as well, but that's what I get for watching Star Trek for so many years!

After listening to the Podcast, I am convinced we are not in Baltar's head..they explicitly said that wasn't the case. For a Star Trek viewer...for a writer to do something like this on a show is something new...albiet risk taking ..alienating some fans. But I think it's a change from the Sci-Fi norm of waking up from a dream and everything is back status quo.

If that doesnt work think this they invested the money in an outdoor refugee camp set such as New Caprica...Galactica has an extremely tight budget..we'll see this place for several episodes. Remember when we thought Pegasus was going to go bye bye real fast? Probably just a midrange arc on New Caprica...my educated guess from reading RDM interviews on boards. The final goal of course is Earth..much to Baltar's chargrin
