what is the worst star trek ever

60 posts in this topic
Heh... I don't mind Final Frontier. It had a rugged quality that I liked.

Besides, what can top Spocky toasting 'marshmelons'? :D

::shakes head:: Marshmelons...

I like that movie. It's not greatly made, but who cares, it's fun.

Ya know... as time goes on, I find that the episodes I hated the first time around, I kind of like them now, for who knows what reason.

For example, the TOS episodes with the crappiest special effects, I used to hate... but now I kind of like them. Yeah, I laugh at the Gorn costume and the jiggling enterprise model, but I am finding I like the episodes themselves...

Early TNG was bad, but now I don't mind 'em. Okay, Wesley is still a weenie, but I don't want to continually kill him. Same thing with Neelix on Voy.

In the junkiest of the movies, there are still some neat character thingies.

I still need to get ds9 on dvd to give it a fair chance. Got sick of the whining Bajorans and most of Sisko and the friggin prophets. But I have a feeling it won't be so bad now. Same thing with Ent - must watch.

Heh...I was like that with all star trek. I was continually saying "Aw man, not star trek!!" But now that I sat down and watched it, I think otherwise.

Me neither. Killing them once is good enough for me as long as it is sufficiently bloody.

A shot of Spock peeing on a tree or something would have been better.

"Jim, you don't ask the Almighty for his I.D.!"

That and "If you're God, how come you don't know who I am?" or was it 'why do you need a ship?"

"Jim, you don't ask the Almighty for his I.D.!"

This is just another reference to Shatner's bad acting. (AND bad directing skills)

He was actually out of character for the question, and thought he was speaking to his peer. His ego is such that even he didn't recognize it, in his own movie.

Actually, in answer to this thread title, I think William Shatner is...But hey, that's just me.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Original Series, and the movies, and Kirk. I just don't like William Shatner.

Watching Boston Legal, at first Shatner was funny to me...now he looks like he should just go away. I know he's one of those wonderful things, a celebrity who knows how awful they were in their heyday who's willing to mock their glory at every chance but there comes a time when perhaps the towel should be thrown. Of course his futurama appearance is legendary and always will be.

The worst (and corniest) Star Trek episode ever was TOS' Requiem for Methuselah. Anyone agree?

I disagree.

"Spocks Brain" is the corniest of the Original Series. Dr. McCoy leading Spock around via remote control headgear. Right. ^_^

Let's not forget "The Way to Eden" with a hippie Chekov, a lute-playing Spock and everyone calling Kirk "Herbert" because he's so square!

On second thought, let's forget it!

"The Way to Eden" is without a doubt the worst.

And actually, "Requiem for Methuselah" is one of my favorites for assorted reasons. ^_^

That sounds freakishly like that one Arc plot inwhich a certain unamed person got stoned and called Garnoopy "Snoopy".

^_^

Oh yes! I forgot, TOS nod to the hippie movement. Remember the one dude that kept rhyming and strumming on his guitar? He needs to be smacked upside the head. Period.

I think everyone in that episode needed a good head slapping...and the writers...

It's always possible that they were smoking something while writing up that episode. Although how it got past Gene's approval, I have no idea.

Even Spock needed a head-slapping in that episode.

Wasn't me, that's for sure. Didn't do it, can't prove it. Was probably in Iraq when it happened anyway. ^_^

When he plays that crappy song, and sings, gah!! Ooohh I hate that episode. Not even worth watching to poke fun at...

I seem to prefer the ones the rest of you hate.

I loved ENT, and Wesley was my favorite character - with Q, Shran and Harry coming in a close second, and Echeb, Chekov, Julian and Weyoun in third.

Anyway, this is a thread for what I DIDN'T like...

I didn't like the Enterprise episode where they had to clone Trip, it was sad and depressing. I didn't like TNG's 'Tapestry' even if Q was in it, and I didn't like the DS9 episodes that revolved around the wormhole aliens - particularily the finally. Oh, or the VOY. episodes involving Seska, she was a pain in the neck.

I think that about covers the things I didn't like (oh, the first movie kind'a sucked too, but I still watch it).
