ShoreLeave 2006 - Orlando!

178 posts in this topic
We lay in a few of these babies by the pool, Mr FuddyDuddy don't have to drive anywhere and we're good. In fact, we can have him send out for takeout for us!

What good is a cabana boy if we don't put him to work?

whoa! who are you calling mr fuddyduddy?? or have you jobbed out my rightful title of cabana boy so quickly?! if so, i have half a mind to be quite shocked and appalled!

oh, and yes.. i'm planning on attending. heh heh heh.

::tosses her holster and massage gel/lotions into her carryon::

If the Cabana Boy is coming to Orlando I'm going to be ready. Gotta treat him right y'know??

Good! Because I'm telling you these younglings don't have a CLUE on how to be a cabana boy! They can watch and learn... Watch and learn from the Master. Show them, you will.

Sheesh! One year I sit in Picard's chair with a cigarette. The next year I go on stage to be part of Penn & Teller's act, and am even given a live bullet to play with. No one cares. Sketti served a couple drinks 3 years ago that he didn't even make himself, we haven't seen him since, and he is some kind of hero.

That may be true, but can you Cha-Cha??

So you sling a towel around your hips and pick up a tray. No one has ever said we couldn't use another Cabana Boy ... and after all these years of hanging out with us, you should know our beverage of choice without even asking

Let's see if I get the orders right:

Huff: Wine

Blu: Something served in a fishbowl

Fred: Water, with ice if he doesn't have plans the next day

Dac: Anything with alcohol

Hey there,

Well, a couple of quick comments here.

First, and most importantely, Dumbass...my drink order has changed quite a bit since the last time you saw me mate.

Second, if you want to become "famous" I have a suggestion or two. Have people on the boards decide something for you to do when in Orlando. I don't know, where a bikini or something. That'll turn you into a hero...sort of. Look what it did for me. Coconut bra one year, next I was seducing Captain Kirk and this year who knows!

Though I did take a picture in Hawaii of a set (appeared same) of coconut bra/skirt in Hawaii. Caption for the photo is "And so we meet again..."

Oh come now, I'm not that easy. I'd prefer something pink and frothy, with an umbrella. It doesnt *have* to have booze, it just has to look pretty. ;)

Funny how you grouped Fred with the Ladies. I notice you don't have orders for A9, Moose or Garnoopy!

::nods:: Now that you can talk the talk, we need to see you walk the walk.

(And neVER underestimate the power of a good latin swivel. Sketti knows. See how long the impression has lasted? Watch the magic...)

Like Freddikins, my hot summer day beverage of choice has also evolved... Mmm...mojito... www.bacardimojito.com

And (perhaps) to qualm the disgust of those who haven't gone to SL (or who haven't gone lately), we don't sit around drinking all day long. Before noon we have coffee. ;)

Personally I prefer the dance of a seductive tango, but, a good latin swivel can be just as good.

Coffee and Baileys you mean. And there was that time last year when we had champagne with breakfast.

Heh, could be worse, VR. When I go camping, I usually start the day out with a Rolling Rock. Mind you, that's before the first cup of coffee. And proceed to finish the night with a couple of shots of Jaegermeister.

We'll usually go through a couple of cases of beer over a weekend.

I could never tell if the green in Rolling Rock came from the bottle or the beer. Heinekin as well.

Ahhhh, Brunch at the Paris ::sigh:: That was truly divine.

An incredible brunch venue really is a must ... along with a locale for Get Your Crabs with Blu, a cabana for Sun Your Buns with Dac, and a Latin hot spot for Dirty Dancing with Huff.

Now for a good Brunch name

Ohh, I'm counting the days!

Hm... I didn't look originally, but there does seem to be a little bit of Argentine tango in Orlando. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll pursue it more. My shoes will be with me regardless, so it's all good. ;)

(Johnny - the following places show up repeatedly on my searches - Do you know anything about them?)

Club Copacabana, 5454 International Drive

The Latin Quarter, 6000 Universal Blvd

::Crawls out of the cave he's hiding in, leaving the typewriter behind:: Yes... they are all excellent choices. Especially Latin Quarter; though that's more of a restaurant then club. But on the weekend in the evenings they turn into a dancing club, if my memory serves me correctly. I've hardly been out in to the Universal area in a while since I moved clear to the other side of town.

Club Copacabana is also a good choice, though that is more of a Brazilian club, but they also like their Latin dancing. ;)

The Zebra Room I'm not so familiar with, but it looks like it's in a not so tourist friendly part of town. But when it comes to Latin dancing the two other one's are pretty good choices.

Like I said before, feel free to ask questions, I might not get to them right away, but I'll try the best I can. I'm just entering that time of the semester in classes that I'm churning out paper after paper, and well... working a full time job as an assistant manager does limit my free time severly, (And as a lot of people close to me know, I tend to space out... a lot ;)) but I'll still try to help the best I can. ;)

Oh yes, the Latin Quater has some of the most delicious food in Orlando... but this...

Churrasco Shirt Steak - Grilled marinated shirt steak served with Chimichurri sauce over garbanzo frito and chorizo sausage. $18.99

THIS is one of the BEST steaks I have ever had in my life. If you feel like shelling out the cash for it, it's worth it. I miss the days of my 50% discount at the Latin Quater, if not I'd have it alllll the time
