Life On Mars & Hyperdrive

Heya,

I know sometimes we occasionally yap about other shows with a sci-fi twist to them such as firefly, battlestar galactica etc etc. Sooooooooo I was wondering if any of ya had checked out the stuff coming out from merry old England these days. My two choices would have to be Hyperdrive which is sorta like Red Dwarf in that its a sitcom in space or Life On Mars, a series about a policeman sent back in time to the 70's after he gets hit by a car. Anyone seen 'em yet? If ya haven't do so. Personally I'd prefer Life On Mars but Hyperdive has its moments, especially since its got Nick Frost (from Shaun of the Dead).

Discuss, discuss I say! Or at least answer back so I can sell the televisual wares of my homeland to you all like a crazed storekeep!

Cheers,

::smacks the VR::

I haven't seen either of those, although I'm slowly being introduced to Doctor Who.

::wishes he had a TV::

I think that pretty much answers the question.

The literal mind is a curious thing.

Doctor Who? Really? The old school series or the new ones? I did hear Who was reasonably big in the states (well only from watching "Freaks and Geeks"...God I miss that show.)

Red Dwarf was a favorite of mine, even before the guy who played the Cat showed up on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. (He played the singing Demon. Great voice... and the only episode of Buffy really worth watching, in my opinion). I still wonder why no one has produced a sitcom in Space. I mean a REAL sitcom, not a show that ended up being funny, simply because it was so bad. We need a non-animated version of Jetsons, or Futurama.

Hyperdrive sounds interesting, but I haven't heard of it being broadcast anywhere in the States.
