Gather all warriors and share a drink and a tale. Tell me of the great battles that have grazed your explorations or the deeds of your house.

Heh, I remember that TNG episode Birthright (part 2) where that teenage klingon in that old POW camp starts 'em all singing that...

...for some weird reason I get the urge to slap the daylights out of him every time I watch it! I don't know, for a klingon he's so...whiney!

Favourite klingon ever? Well it has to be Chang or Gorkon from Star Trek 6 for me.

I disagree (and NOT because I play a Vulcan). The best Klingon was Martok, the Leader of Destiny. B)

To us Klingons the best warriors are those who live and die in great honor and often remain nameless. You feddies allways go for those who the federation has in they're history books. Many great warriors have soared the stars of the Great Klingon Empire. I pleadged my my life and death to become one who joins the Black Fleet in Sto vo Kor.

Oh I liked so many of them! Eyepatch-dude, bulgey-eyed Gowron, but I think the Duras sisters will always hold a special place in my heart, lol.

eeehh...The Duras sisters don't fit into the whole "Great Warrior" category. But I get your point. B)

Duras sisters have no Honor. They are traitors to the empire like Worf is. Anyone who doesn't stand with the Empire in battle has no Honor and deserves no Glory or respect. They will all be turned away at the gates of Sto Vor Kor and will never rest among the Black Fleet.

My all time favorate Klingon has to be Kruge from Star Trek 3. Great view of Klingon in ship disipline. I also liked Chang from Undiscovered Country, with the eye patch bolted to his face and the little lone ponytail on the bald head. Also, he and Kirk had that wonderful staring match in the transporter room. Another favorate Klingon from that movie was Brigadere General Kern. He had that cool accent.

Zaphod,

"I purr, therefore I am."

Kruge was cool just because it was Christopher Lloyd. Ultimate favorite Klingon ever, is that fat belching one in the Voyage Home. Yeah...

Okay I get why you say that about the Duras sisters, but Worf? He's basically the link between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. There are other ways to achieve honor besides battle. Worf never betrayed the Klingon Empire, when he was needed he fought bravely.

Maybe it's that whole "The High Council is a bunch of weak housewives!!" thing...

He lean to far toward his human side. He has no honor amonst the Klingon Empire. He has chose the federation over his own house. He caused a great dishonor to fall on Kurn of which he lost his seat on the High Counsel, his land and his way of life. All because he was scared to join Gowron and us in a great victory over the cardasions. Now he his brother and son and their sons will bear the dishonor he layed on his house.

To a klingon the highest honor is to die for the Empire!

Worf hoped for peace between the Empire and the Federation! Surely you must agree that that is honorable! Oh and two words, Kahless clone. ::dramatically walks away::

I am a huge fan of the "IKS Gorkon" novels by Keith RA Decandido.

Enemy Territory, Honor Bound and A Good Day to Die are all excellent novels set aboard a Klingon ship; the crew is a combination of book and recurring guest stars from TNG / DS9.

It shows many aspects of Klingons, personalities, interests....and battle. Muwah.

Favorite Klingon? The Duras Sisters are da bomb, but I really can't choose a favorite. They are all cool.

Klingons are great and have a deep honorable tradition. But, they are also not exactly subtle - a hard charging warrior is great, but there is something to be said for stealth and patience.

If you look at my sig, there is a quote there from the PC game Elite Force 2. The quote reminds me of those who have a quiet warrior honor. " The true warrior is a shadow within the darkness, a whisper among shouts"

- Tuvok, Elite Force 2

Now from a fictional standpoint - if I was commanding an away mission on some planet, involving infiltration, and I had a choice between two people - one was an exhuberant warrior, the other was a quieter warrior. I'd go with the quieter warrior.

Interestingly enough, again, the IKS Gorkon books have both in your face Klingons and those that are quieter, different personalities and the like. Along with some superb battle action and on board Klingon discipline.

So heres my question - do all "warriors" need to be all Hoo Rah in your face Klingon like? And, would a Klingon squad of crazy warriors be a match for say a covert ops squad down on a planet?

Qapla.

The in your face type would last about two seconds on a covert spec ops

misson......unless you just needed cannon fodder, for a tatical distraction

to allow the completion of a misson sucessfully... B) :P

Hey, what's that episode of DS9...? Blood Oath I think. Those three Klingons don't go in your face. Not much anyway...
